And who fired the lucky forty-three-millionth shot? That would be one "James" (gamertag: jkasapi) from Peterborough, England. With no small amount of irony involved, EA is gifting the obviously subterranean James with a pair of 1943 sunglasses, a 1943 t-shirt, and custom Battlefield sneakers, for when he goes "outside."

If the ENTIRE Warhawk Community Jumped to Battlefield 1943 for just 5 or so Hours.....the 43 Million Kill mark would EASILY be surpassed....its just too many people stuck on Warhawk that dont wanna give this a try sadly...

Plane controls here are so bad compared to Warhawk. Anyway, after I'm done helping hte PS3, I'll go back to Killzone 2.

The only thing good about Warhawk are the plane controls. Everything else is just autolocking garbage. Battlefield 1943 is better even if it is stripped down.

Well, here's the thing. We already have Warhawk. 1943 and Warhawk do compare very similarly. The Warhawk community is a blast to play with. And for most people, we already OWN Warhawk. So in the words of Sheldon Cooper of Big Bang Theory....
"In a world that already has a Big Boy, why would I want something that's LIKE a Big Boy?"

warhawk is fun... when you're on the winning side. almost every team match degenerates into one team pushing the other team back to their base, and bombing/tanking the shit out of them, and staying like that for up to thirty minutes. when you get bombed the second you respawn, that pretty much ruins any and all fun.
that's why i like killzone 2.you still have the bases, but they're covered and guarded by a ton of turrets.

Ya I'd call it garbage. When you have a guy shooting at you, and you try to fire back, but you can't because your crosshairs locks onto the guy behind him, then ya I'd call it garbage.
The expansions were also a waste of money >.>

Love Warhawk, played BF1943 demo, went back to Warhawk.
It reminds me of a duller, slower, less tactical version of Warhawk.
As to the complaints about spawnkilling: absolutely it is a problem, and one that many Warhawk players work hard to try to minimize. But that's Warhawk; it's brutal, it's unforgiving, it's an expert's game that requires literally hundreds or thousands of hours of play to master.
BF1943 is a great fifteen dollar online game for people who don't want to get too involved. But nobody is going to be quitting Warhawk to play it.

This game feels pointless all of the sudden.
Where's the meat & potatoes, EA?!
I propose a 5th map with a kill count of 43 BILLION!!
That should make the game relevant again.
Maybe a small map for increased action.

They had Wake Island for Battlefield 2 back in the day also, this map is identical. I've played 1943 alot and while it's fun, it sure does feel like a BFBC reskin with no weapons and no reason to keep playing. As a player the only rewards are postcards. :(

Any word on if they have plans for another event like this? Maybe another level at 250 Mil. (the pace will slow down a little) and a Battlefield 1942 map pack for 500 mil.

Hmmm, conveniently enough I'll be getting a new PC in a month :P
I'll pick this one up, once I'm done whoring TF2 on full settings, having until now played it with FPS scripts that made it look like Doom (and it still had a framerate of a slideshow :(

Well, TF2 happens to be the only resource intensive Source game as many complaints on Steam forums prove. My PC's alright except that it happens to have a shitty Pentium D and TF2 is very CPU intensive to the point where clocking it 0.5ghz gave me extra 30-40fps.
But now the fucker sorta broke down and overheats so I'm back to shitty default clocks and 10-20fps.

Now heres the weird thing, the press obviously think this somehow means that Xbox has more gamers than PS3 does. However to me it suggests PS3 owners have a far better pool of current games to choose, and don't need to all rush to the same game at the same time.
We know the on the ground userbases are similar when you take out RROD replacements...

...and I thought PS3'ers were still playing Infamous.. though my mate is playing Mirrors Edge (free dlc) & motorstorm while nothing is coming out.. he still can't convince me to buy one... I'm still playing Phantasy Star 2 & Tiger Woods 09 (picked it up a month ago) while I can't be bothered to open up Star Ocean.. maybe it's my age or that I'm nearly at 100 games on my card.. I just feel less interested..

Or more likely, that you won't get as much activity by selling a new game on the PS3 as you would the 360.

Sorry, but sometimes the numbers don't lie. More people own Xbox 360's right now, and if the rate of each sales continues as it is now, the PS3 will never catch up.

The reason the PS3 launch was probably better was that there is a smaller community playing (hence the kill numbers) which led to less overloaded servers.

If you wanna get it for the PC guess you will have to settle for 1942.

1942 isn't settling. It's way better than this crap. 1942 is the best game in the series and the community is still kicking. Best mods of any PC game to date in my opinion and still fun to put in and play anytime I don't feel up to Killzone 2 or Infamous.

I honestly wouldn't mind having it on both. I like my gamepad and hate sitting hunched over in a chair for hours but nothing beats the accuracy of a mouse.

I boot it up but I keep getting failed connection. probably happened 20 times so I can even get the demo to run to see if I like it enough to buy it. guess Iw ll spend my points elsewhere. monkey island I think tommorrow. maybe when they get this pro fixed

Well, games to play bullshit console warrior fantardedness aside, one point made here IS valid.
From what I've noticed, the live community, outside of a few exceptions, does seem to swarm collectively like a flock of locusts from game to game whereas concentrated PSN play tends to only really happen during betas. I see people on my PSN playing a much wider variety of games from much wider in the life of the console. Although it's also possible to get some games going on some really obscure crap on Live whereas PSN you have to play those events. As an example, I played Crimson Skies online a few days ago, but I couldn't find any online matches of MK2 despite it being one of PSN's top sellers.
Also, OF COURSE THIS SOLD MORE ON 360! But keep this in mind, it moved copies on PS3 as well. I'm glad that developers are realizing that, while the 360 version will do better, this doesn't mean the PS3 version won't sell at all.
