"Never Leave a Man Behind: Finish a game with 5000 net resources contributed to your teammates on Barrens (15 points)"

How is this achievement supposed to happen when Barrens is listed as a 1v1 map?

bad timing. I haven't been able to play halo wars for weeks. my 360 got the RRoD. doesn't fall under warranty because it is a launch system. I thought the RRoD being so common was a myth since my brother and I both had launch systems with no problems. $99 to fix it. :-(. I want these maps though so I guess it's time to get it fixed. Still cheaper than buying a new one though so I can't be too angry.

That sucks, it had to happen sometime though. I really think it's funny that all the people that still have launch 360's think it's something to brag about...all it really means is when it fails you're not going to be under warranty. My dad's launch 360 went out over the weekend while playing a very demaning/intensive game of Ticket to Ride.

@ CTC

Yeah, I was one of the proud. It also made me think that the RRoD wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. Guess I was wrong.

i play 1v1 almost exclusively. i cant stand 2v2 matches and 3v3 is unbearable without 2 solid teammates.

$10 for four maps ?

DLC is suck a joke.

These companies act as if making RTS MP maps is a challenging task.

Anyone play this? I am a dude who recently finds himself loving Teh Haloz, and the story and universe therein. I never had an original Xbox, so I recently went back and played all three of them; and was quite surprised that Halo, as a series, isn't shitty. Like, at all. This is a pleasant surprise to me.

I've never been much of an RTS guy, however. Thoughts?

I love it. It's awesome when you get a 3v3 game and you have these huge armies ripping into each other. It's pretty balanced, too. I don't love the FPS Halo games but I think Halo Wars is the bomb ass shit.

it's a nice soft intro to RTS's, which I'm not into really but like yourself, I love the storyline. haven't played it in awhile (and haven't beaten it yet), but it's easier to play co-op than single player (especially if it's your first RTS). If you enjoy the Halo storyline you'll enjoy the game.

waiting for my brother to pick it up so I can complete it on Legendary difficulty. there's a few guys on my friends list who play occasionally and give me helpful tips on the multiplayer. if you get stuck in the single player campaign there's always gamefaqs.com to get you through to the next part.

if you want ppl to play multiplayer with or co-op, it's easier and faster to post on the msg boards for halowars than trying to do a search for a game from the game menu.

I like it. I haven't played it in a while, but I do like it. It's definitely worth getting if your interested in the Halo lore at all. And it's certainly RTS-newb friendly.

That's about where I left off too. I think I got caught up in RE5 around that time anyway and that's what I put all of my March/April hours into.

I still play the game, I think it's great, but I'm not interested in buying just a few maps. Especially for such an unreasonable amount. Call me when they do a big proper expansion..

Please observe the following :

"Barrens (1v1 Map): Difficult terrain channels units into killing zones. The side that controls the Forerunner artifacts will have the advantage"

"Never Leave a Man Behind: Finish a game with 5000 net resources contributed to your teammates on Barrens (15 points)"

Anyone find this doesn't make sense? Barrens is a 1v1 map. How do you contribute resources to your teammates if you don't have any goddamn teammates?

good question.

perhaps by "teammates" they mean your [troops/tanks/aircrafts] and by "5000 net resources contributed to" they mean [5000 net resources invested into upgrading them]??

or perhaps the map itself has a third faction (rebels for example) that can be "hired" and invested into??

it was a typo. it should've read:

Never Leave a Man Behind (15g): Finish with 5000 net resources tributed to your teammates on *Memorial Basin* except in Deathmatch.

*this* is what should've been the first DLC pack. not f*ing game modes that clearly had no excuse for not already being on the disk. it still boils my blood that MS even had the nerve to pull a stunt like that but then i kick myself for being so naïve.

as much as i like the games themselves, im getting sick and tired of watching MS continue to exploit the fanbase at every possible turn through overpriced DLC.

not the sole reason, of course, but im glad Bungie walked away as they obviously foresaw all of this, realized it was beyond their control and decided to pack up. damn shame Ensemble didn't have the resources to do the same.
