Not just an island, but an island in a sea of people in an urban jungle.

It's actually July 26th, not this Thursday! That would be the 16th.

Anyway, I live pretty close to the city, so I'll be there for this!

Ugh, of all the games to get this kind of treatment it had to be a minigame compilation >.

The things you call "mini games" used to be the most popular form and complexity level of games that existed in the Atari days, and they were full retail priced. Something like Activision's Ice Hockey was a good sports game for its time. These days, a package of 10 games just like it with motion control is brushed off as irrelevant. Not all mini games compilations are created equal. This one will be pretty good.

It's a minigame compilation, there's no depth or substance to them. So how can it be good? I have a hard time understanding waggle fests.

Not every game needs to have "depth" or "substance" to them in order to be entertaining. Games like Pac-Man and Space Invaders certainly don't have much substance to them. And what is the "depth" of Tetris? Yet these games - or spin-offs and offshoots of them - continue to be popular even today.

I'm not saying that Wii Sports Resort is going to be a good game - I won't really know until I play it. But it does have potential. Sure it might not have as much complexity to it or a sweeping story like any of the Zelda games... but if I'm after that, I'd play one of the Zelda games. If I want to have fun with a short game that doesn't take several hours to compete, yet has nearly endless replay value, things like this have more appeal.

Basically, what I'm saying is don't brush it off just because it's a "minigame compilation." Try it before you judge it... or just ignore it because it doesn't fit your gaming niche. Don't like it? Don't buy it. Simple as that.

So all minigame compilations are automatically not good?

If the game is fun, who cares if it lacks depth? God forbid people play a game because it's fun.

That's my point though. It's not fun because it's a minigame compilation. Or maybe it's just me not being amused by simplistic waggle games.

After seeing some hands-on on youtube...this game is turning out to be the complete opposite of what Tmac is accusing it of being.

So Tmac, when you tried the game out for yourself...how much waggle was there really?

I didn't play it, because I don't need to. It's a damn minigame compilation, and the day I play casual shovelware is the day I hand in my gamer card.

That was possibly the most ignorant sentence I've read all day.

First you admit you've had no personal playtime or any experiance whatsoever with the very game your unshamely bashing for being a "waggle-fest"

Oh...and I've been enjoying mini-game compilations such as Wario-Ware and Wii Sports, and also enjoy Call of Duty 4, and Left 4 Dead...and I've never had to turn in my gamercard.

Get off your imaginary high-horse and have a little fun.
