Kind of off-topic, but with VC2 and other great PS3 title sequels coming to the PSP, I have a question: should I get a PSP Go! or a PSP-3000? I don't have any PSP games, but I do want to play the older ones, such as the remade FFT, Jeanne D'Arc, etc. The only benefit I see to the Go! is the small size, but that creates the problem of a smaller screen. Are there any benefits to the Go! other than the size?

3000 of course. UMDs will always be cheaper eventually. I'm not so sure about downloadable games.

Also, i'm not sure if all of the great PSP games already out will make it to the store.

I'm pretty sure that the UMD's won't be cheaper unless you buy them used.

absolutely not, and i would go as far to say that isn't even a benefit. go for the 3000. umds will come down in price. it's cheaper, it has a bigger screen, and it plays EVERY old psp game right out of the box. the go! is a BIG mistake by sony and anyone that buys one is a sucker. they don't know it yet, but they are, trust me, i'm a doctor....

Well, Jeanne D'arc is on PSN right now, and I think it's cheaper then in stores. I would prefer the electronic copy then the physical one I have.

I'd go Go personally, but then again, I have a PSP2k and I don't think I would want to upgrade it at all.

Jeanne D'arc is $20 at gamestop, and that doesn't even include a potential buy 2 get 1 free sale.

On top of that, electronic games have no resell value. They're a big mistake for retail games.

Go! is a bad choice, simple as that. I've ehard it's annoyign to hold too, since the design isn't very good.

And btw, i'm a Sony fanboy ;). The Go! just sucks.

Punisher if your buying a used game cheap at $20 dollars theres already no resell value.

Are you really gonna miss your $3 dollar trade ins from gamestop? really?

It's personal taste really. I'd go with the Go!, but that's largely because I think the previous designs are ugly and I love pretty things. I also never liked the UMD drive.

- The 3000 will be cheaper, have a UMD drive (so ALL old games are compatible), little flash memory (need to upgrade if your going to download largish games, which approximately evens the price. FF7 won't fit without expansion)
- the Go! will have a higher starting price, have more flash memory but no UMD drive (most games will eventually be available, and you won't be able to sell them or rent them, you're stuck with buying).

Well, I'm getting a Go but I also already have a PSP-1000. Basically Go is pretty much the line in the sand to see if a digital distribution market can work for people living outside of the mass of sloppy blowjobs hanging loosely from Steve Jobs crotch....

Brick and mortar support for PSP games is all but dead.

Plus, as arness's post implies, it also stands as Sonys desperate attempt to get PSP owners to ACTUALLY PAY for some fucking games once in a while. How dare they, I know....

As to which one you ultimately choose, I'd wait until some REAL reviews come out on Go. Because the hands-on from E3 have been largely positive even if fantarded smackbillies have been raging against it. Most people talking about the system have read, at most, a paragragh, hated the price and the concept of actually having to pay for games, and went from there. Once it's in peoples hands, the REAL question on if Go is worth it will be answered.

That's a tough decision, but I'd have to side with the 2/3000 supporters. I buy a lot of new-but-old PSP games from amazon, etc for $15 or less. I cannot ever see that happening to the digital copies. In fact, looking at the current store where nearly every game offered can be found complete and new for cheaper, I'm having a hard time warming up to the Go.

Also, I use the extended life battery kit for my 2000 series. It's the greatest accessory ever made for any portable console ever.

I hope we get these soon! Off the top of my head, I'd buy Dragon's Fury, Super Star Soldier, Gunhed, Tiger Heli, Chase HQ, all the Irem coin op conversions. I loved my PC Engine back in the day, and would love the chance to play these again on a big TV.

I know you said it in just, but you're god damned right. The TurboDuo is the best system ever released and the TurboExpress was TWENTY FUCKING YEARS ahead of its time. Please, please, please god let them release TG16 games on the US PSN store.

Said it before and I will say it again...the US PSN SUCKS by comparison...

But this is a good step forward, and if this keeps up with games it should open the door for some other games that people hack the PSP to play....

This is the kind of stuff they should've been doing a while ago. Old emulated games that work on the PSP & PS3. I hope Sega Genesis games follow as well. XBLA got a bunch recently, iirc, but PSN only got one. I hope they're halting the releases to get them to work on the PSP as well.

Oh Aggie, have patience, this relies more on Hudson than it does Sony now. Rest assured, I will be bugging Hudson US every day until we get answers (Turbografx/PC Engine Fanboy.)

I sent PS3 fanboy (joystick) about this many hours ago and they just ignored the tip I sent. The person whose responsible should go F him/her self.

I know I'm gonna get down voted for saying this, but I was a little pissed :p

"Hours ago." As in the middle of the night? Do you really expect bloggers to jump on your hot tip (the hot tip that was sent out as a press release from Sony), at 3:30 in the morning?

Douchetool.

Take a look at the European Store they have SimCity 2K and some of the older C&C games available and had Killzone: Liberation at least a month or two before it was released here as well as the demo for Resistance Retribution. I get the whole each region is in charge of its store but this is just sad.

Is this how Sony is going to roll out the PSP games digitally after Oct 1 (which I think is complete S**T) they need to find themselves a whole new marketing team. Release the crap PSP titles in US and Europe first then on Nov 1 release all the good ones in Japan first

LOL - The Wii has had this already so, for me, it's not that big of a deal. I've been playing Devil's Crush for the past year. Putting that aside, however, it's amazing as to how much more, and better, support, the Japanese PSN get's compared to anyone else. And Sony wonders why there is so much hostility towards them on the part of North American gamers.

This needs to come stateside, 1080p PC Engine games as well as Remote Play support and transferring to PSP. AWESOME! Maybe next will come Nintendo ROMs.

GameCube and Wii games at 1080p and can be played on PSP! Well, maybe Wii games won't play well on PSP, but the PS3 Motion Controller will make sweet sweet love to New Super Mario Wii and Smash Bros!

Don't ever expect Nintendo anything on a Sony console. Unless you've modded said console.
