Rad '80s Avatar shades are a go-go ... we mean a no-no

Microsoft is bringing back bad '80s fashion, as the Avatars can now accessorize with "shutter shades." Oh Microsoft, we're supposed to forget bad fashion, not endorse it -- like the socks and sandals option. Major Nelson did announce these ocular accessories on Monday, but due to an issue, the pieces weren't available until late yesterday. Check out the list of eye coverings after the break.

Mens:

Black Shutter Shades
Red Shutter Shades
White Shutter Shades
Hippy Shades

Ladies:

Blue Shutter Shades

Do you remember the electric shavers that were sold during Miami Vice's heyday? They let you shave but left you with the perfect amount of 5 o'clock shadow, just like Crockett. It was called something like the "Vice Device".

I'm with you man. kanye is decent. I mean he helped daft punk get the attention they should've been getting for the past decade. plus that last album he did was the ballsiest risk taken by a popular artist in years.

I've pretty much gotten my avatar to the point where he looks exactly like me, wearing an outfit I would wear. I don't know if I'll ever change him again.

But these glasses are awesome.

Thanks to those glasses it will be easier to spot the douche bags on live.

Those are very popular in the clubs in nyc and li. I dont know why they added it to xbox but its becoming a rather popular look, but not serious where you see people wearing them out. More like a party/club thing.

Is anyone else sick of the gender discrimination in clothing items? :/

It seems they come out with one article of clothing per 3-4 months, meaning there may be a decent wardrobe to choose from around 2015, not that I cared about these computer dolls in the first place, but it seems Microsoft doesn't either.

Now all we need is jean jackets with an Anthrax back patch.

I can't wait until MS adds the props option to the Avatars. Then we'll see true 80's fashion...like the Zack Morris cell phone, or the 3 lb beeper! Awesome!
