CD Projekt's role-playing game The Witcher is getting another update, adding to the content found in the 2008 Enhanced Edition release. Owners of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition will be able to upgrade to the game's Director's Cut free-of-charge via patch. The newest version of the game will also be available for purchase on TheWitcher.com, Impulse, Steam and Direct2Drive.
Along with adding updates found in the recent 1.5 patch -- which removed The Witcher's DRM and added new community-created content -- the Director's Cut will restore nudity previously removed from the North American release of the (overly buxom) Enhanced Edition. If staring at digital lady and man bits from an engine that got its original start in 2002 is your thing, The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut is the definitive edition you seek.

i like when people specify, arent all chaps in the nature of their being ass-less? chaps just go over your pants, and when you say ass-less i guess your specifying the fact that there are no pants beneath, as one would assume that just saying one is wearing chaps they are also wearing pants... what where we talking about again?

Burn victims? Children murdered?
Last time I checked, you had a uncanny resemblence to Adam West, rode in a red-and-black Batmobile, had shark repellent, invented the Batusi and had Robin around. Plus, Didn't Joker had a moustache ?

So the Adam West version is better? A grown man makes a young boy wear skimpy tights and makes him respond to his every order? Yeah, that sounds like something that kids would be more attracted to. I'm surprised West didn't pull out the M&Ms and ask kids to get into his batmobile...

Actually blank mage, in the original bob kane things, they were certainly not for kids, very very dark. I even used to use a gun and killed people back then, and the joker's violence was fully depicted

And as for the Robin comment, just having him around doesn't suddenly make the stories cheerier and kid friendlier.
A Death in the Family anyone?
(for those less versed in comic lore, this would be the one where the Joker violently beats Robin to death.)

Cocks are edgy, I guess. Remember when they first started doing "bullet time" effects in movies, and then evvvveryone was doing it for the next few years? Same thing with cocks. You just have to sit back, buckle in, and endure the cock parade until directors/game developers get tired of them and move on to something new... which I'm guessing will have to be something like colonoscopy minigames to really raise the bar.

That's one of the few good things about living in Europe. Sure we get screwed the release dates of pretty much every game and the nifty features North Americans take for granted are nowhere to be seen, but at least over here nudity and such isn't that big of a deal to most people.
So not many censored games in that department and no crazy people on TV screaming "Oh noes, teh boobies in videogames! Think of the children!!".

In North America, Violence > Sex. Look at how bad it was for Clinton to receive a sexual act from Monica (aside from the whole married thing). People were up in arms over that (some of the smarter people were upset because he lied about what he did and rightfully so ) - but when the VP shoots a friend in the face on a hunting trip, that's okay.
A better example is the contrast in outrage of the two following scenarios.
1) Invading Iraq with knowingly false intelligence or;
2) Having Janet Jackson's nipple show at the Superbowl.
Sitting back, you would think that invading a country, killing hundreds of people would spark more of an outrage but no, you would be wrong.

I'd like to buy the Polish Collectors Edition which is the definitive edition with a ton of swag, like a trading card game, carrying bag, artbook etc.
Will the Director's Cut be released in physical box format with all the goodies the Enhanced Edition came with?

Sorry, didn't mean that as a reply.
I was hoping that if Witcher did come to consoles, the PC would get that version too since it would have had an all new combat system and what-not, which I would have wanted to see. At least the PC still has this exclusive. : )

The addition of the original art for the cards one receives whenever one, to quote Ethan, "bonks a lady" has been available for some time, although not officially. There is, I think, one character, a nymph or something, whose character model was nude in game so I'm assuming they're fixing that as well.
Regardless it's good to see that they've finally agreed that, if a player is able to handle depictions of decapitation they may also be able to handle depictions of breasts.

Is it completely necessary that you are forced to buy it for some reason?

Of course not. But I wouldn't buy a game because there is nudity in it. For some gamers, it's as close as they'll come to seeing a nude woman, but for me it doesn't add anything to the game, and something that doesn't add anythign to a game isn't necessary.
