Activision confirms 22 more GH5 tracks, details pre-order bonuses

At this point, we're pretty much 100% confident that the "unofficial" Guitar Hero 5 track list we got last week was dead on. After confirming the entire list of bands back in May, Acitivision officially announced 22 more tracks today (in addition the already revealed 24, making a grand total of 46 out of 85 revealed so far. And wouldn't you know it, every one of those songs was already on that "unofficial" list we already had.

The peripheral-inclined publisher also revealed the variety of pre-order bonuses that eager GH5 consumers will pick up alongside the game at various retailers, ranging from GameStop's two free playable songs (isn't that like, a demo?) to Amazon's promise of five free mp3s. Hit the break for all the officially confirmed tracks thus far.

i bet they're already planning for guitar hero X and will try to reboot it at the 15th sequel by calling it just "guitar hero"

i think the joystiq staff had an inside source this time around. you guys had to. perhaps this person has been on the JPAGP? works for activision? maybe?

by the way i suggest you supplement your joystiq podcast diet with a healthy dose of the joystiq podcast appreciation group podcast on itunes.

They're the same game! Virtually no difference in terms of mechanics. DLC is another story but get off it! This fanboy crap has got to stop.

instead of those bonus tracks, how about the ability to transfer all the DL songs and the songs on every single full band GH disc released? I'd thing more people will appreciate that.

So glad I don't actually "buy" these games.

If you are referring to Guitar Hero then I agree with you. After GH3, I never bought another GH game ever after.

However, if you are referring to band rhythm games in general *cough*RB*cough*, then you're missing out buddy. They are probably the best party experience you can have with your friends.

Considering that that only Guitar hero game i've owned was the wii version of world tour (not the full band), i think i may get this. The track list looks ok, not stella...

last time i checked, apple makes the pricing decisions. so more popular songs are $1.29. that's why i feel bad for people who didn't buy the led zeppelin songs before the price change. every single one of their songs went up by 30 cents.

Hysteria by Muse has been in Rock Band (wish there was more however) and Blue - Song 2 is coming to RB in the form of LEGO Rock Band

Tom Petty, White Stripes, and Thrice are good to have. The rest doesn't look too bad. But is there any word on if GHWT tracks can be carried over? That'll really be what determines if this is a buy for me.

there's been a rumor going around saying that you will be able to import world tour songs into 5, but there hasn't been any official word from acti.

Even if this game had a terrible set list (which it doesn't), American Girl makes it an instant purchase.

These setlists become more uninspired as the games go on. I think the last GH setlist I really liked belonged to #2.

I liked the set list from 2. If only Beast and the Harlot and Killing in the Name didn't sound like utter shit.

Yeah, those are kinda bad, but I do like the cover of "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'." I thought it would be terrible but was pleasantly surprised.

Oh, definitely referring to the newer GH series. I still have them all in my collection but RB2 + it's infinitely amazing DLC keeps me busy.

I don't normally comment, but the rhythm games are my favorite. I couldn't care less if it's Rock Band or Guitar Hero, really, but this set list kind of sucks so far. There's a few on here that aren't terrible, but for the most part it's not that exciting yet.

i'll wait for all the good songs to make their way to RB, much like most of the good songs from GH3, and anything good on GHWT, except minus about 4 songs is already on RB

For a second when it said Attack Attack, I thought they were talking about the horrific crabcore band. Thank god.

Though I guess my next purchase definitely won't be GH5. Most likely RB2, or even GH:M.
