Ubisoft has finally revealed the first official trailer for the upcoming Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, and it continues the trend of stunning omg-is-that-possible quality we've seen from PSP games as of late. According to Frederic Lefroncois, producer of Bloodlines, the game takes place "right after the events of Assassin's Creed as he hunts down the ascending Templars in Cyprus." He then emphasizes that "it's the only game that explains the link between Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2. If you want to understand how Ezio is born and where the Codex comes from, you need this game."
Unlike other handheld iterations of Assassin's Creed, Bloodlines will recreate the "core gameplay" of the original console game, including free-running and combat. Once again, Altair will have to do missions before completing an assassination -- however, expect a bit more variety this time around. "There are 8 new mission types," Lefroncois explains, "and we wanted each mission to feel as fresh and exciting as the final Assassination moment."
Bloodlines will be available later this year, and can be purchased as part of a bundle, which includes a white PSP-3000 system, the game, and a Memory Stick for $200. See the trailer after the break.
Then buy a PSP and stop moaning. Otherwise forget about it, sometimes life works out in ways you don't always want, you can't sit around moaning about it because that won't achieve anything. If it performs well, they'll leave it on PSP, if it doesn't they may consider putting it on PSN. Until then, do some watching or reading or don't bother with it at all.
"If you want to understand how Ezio is born and where the Codex comes from, you need this game"
I fuckin' hate it when they do that shit. So to get the full experience, I need to fuckin' have multiple systems? Next thing you know they're going to make an "Assasin's Creed 2A and an Assasin's Creed 2B". Each one with a different part of the story, but one is exclusive to PS3 and the other to XBox 360.
Fuck that shit. Almost makes me want to not buy AC2, almost...
Let's look at the facts. It looks like this game just includes an extra "side quest" if you will that really only offers information pertaining to the AC universe that, for my money, a lot of people can do without.
Before they announced this bundle, I had no interest in how the Codex came about or any of the back story involving Ezio. And really, it remains the same now. I am a fan of the series and I have been looking to get a PSP, and I think that I'm the kind of audience Ubisoft is looking to grab here.
I DON'T think that this, as you said, going to evolve into some trend where the industry is "forcing" us to buy every system out there just so we know what the fuck is going on. As far as I'm concerned, I really think you'll be able to pick up AC2, play through it, and get as much enjoyment out of that game with or without any of the experiences of the PSP version.
Dumb ass comment, why should a handheld not have a peice to the story, I'd rather have that then another pointless spin off, if you don't have the console, its just your loss, but if you haven't noticed games have been doing this for ages, all of the first Metal Gears were on PS2, the first 2 halos were on Xbox, if you are not interested in storylines you will play the game regardless of prequels, if you REALLY want to know the story that bad, look at it on youtube or read wikipedia, otherwise stop whining. Use your brain.
I agree with you; you shouldn't need to buy all kinds of extra crap to get the whole story. If by "If you want to understand how Ezio is born and where the Codex comes from, you need this game," Ubisoft means "Look up the story on Wikipedia," then I can agree with Ubisoft.
People have been using youtube and wiki for ages to do this, why is there any problem now? Many of the games released today have spawned from older console versions, so you have to do it anyway.
Its still better for me to play for instance the Epilogue DLC instead of watching it on Youtube since the PC version of Prince of Persia isn't getting it.
You said it correctly the first time, lol, but if you haven't got the platform, make do with what you do have, otherwise buy the platform and stop moaning about it. Its only a storyline, the same was done with FF7 Crisis Core, and god of war, noone complained about them, well noone I came across anyway.
The only person moaning I see here is you Maverick Saturn, I think we got the whole Wikipedia and Youtube bit the first 400 times you posted it. But I do understand where you're coming from completely, and I too sometimes read quick synopsis of games but that still doesn't mean I'm satisfied with it. So yeah half these people will end up looking it up in some sort of way on the internet but that doesn't mean they aren't gonna complain about it because they obviously want to play it. Gamers play games, not Wikipedia.
......Then buy the platform, duh? No point telling me about gamers playing games if your not game for buying a PSP and playing the bloody game, if you can't afford it, then just accept that you will miss out, usually the same theory applies if you don't buy the sequel or prequels to a game with a storyline, I would have thought that didn't require much intelligence.
You would prefer them to make an entire game on your platform of choice instead of PSP because....erm....you can't find out a little bit of the story, I would have thought it cheaper for you to buy the game and PSP and find out then them to port it over so you can find out. Intelligence?
Ummm, I have a PSP so unlike you I won't miss out, just try not to be such a bitch when it comes to telling people about the alternatives, I think these people are smart enough to know whether they will be playing this game or not, they don't need an idiot like you reminding them every five minutes that they will have to look it up another way. And like I said just because most people will end up looking it up on Wikipedia, doesn't mean they settle for that .
And just as reference, your last post made absolutely no sense regarding my previous post, I never said they needed to put it on other systems, I never said I didn't have a PSP, I never even said I cared about the damn game, the only thing I said is that for some people wikipedia may not be enough and that's why they are complaining and have a right too, so before you start an argument, actually know what you are talking about, even that takes some intelligence moron.
"Ummm, I have a PSP so unlike you I won't miss out"
That makes 2 of us.
"just try not to be such a bitch when it comes to telling people about the alternatives, I think these people are smart enough to know whether they will be playing this game or not, they don't need an idiot like you reminding them every five minutes that they will have to look it up another way."
If that were the case I wouldn't have needed to make my point to begin with.
"And like I said just because most people will end up looking it up on Wikipedia, doesn't mean they settle for that ."
Then buy the platform, how many time does it need to be said? I made the decision not to buy a DS, thats my decision, upon making that choice, I also knew that any games made for DS I would not be able to play, whether or not they are connected to the games I have on my Wii. The same could be said about those who did not have the original Xbox / Wii / PS2 / 1 games of a sequel coming out today. If you want to play the game, play the game, if you want to know the story that badly, do what the MGS4 buyers that had not played other MGS' did, either buy them or read up on them. I seriously doubt that the PSP storyline is so much so a must-see that it will prevent a gamer from buying the next installment and enjoying it any less, because if it was that alone would have justified buying a cheap PSP 1000 online and the game just to find out the extras, theres no real excuse for it. Ebay is selling the first model PSPs for dirt cheap, in some cases cheaper then games, certain gamers just refuse to buy it, the same way fanboys want to play Halo without buying an Xbox or play Uncharted without buying a PS3.
"And just as reference, your last post made absolutely no sense regarding my previous post, I never said they needed to put it on other systems, I never said I didn't have a PSP, I never even said I cared about the damn game, the only thing I said is that for some people wikipedia may not be enough and that's why they are complaining and have a right too, so before you start an argument, actually know what you are talking about, even that takes some intelligence moron."
Okay, first off, when I said 'you', I was talking generally, it sounded as though I was specifically pointing fingers at you, but I was in fact talking to anyone within the category of my conversational topic.
Second of all, do you honestly think I'm delighted reading all the plots of games I havent played on wikipedia? Most of the time it's not enough for me either, so I simply make the choice to purchase the game or shut up about it. Oh wait, heres an idea, next time a game releases on a console that I haven't got, Ill come on here and moan about it, better yet, why not moan about all the games I haven't played over they years or the plots I've had to read on Wikipedia because I haven't been able to own the game. Ah! I didn't have the original Xbox, I should moan about not being able to play Munch's Oddysee and Dino Crisis 3 :D
How about this idiot, next time a game releases and you can't play it, keep the fact that you have to use wikipedia to find out about it to yourself, and let those that genuinely feel rip-off off or whatever complain, its not like this is your website or something, stop being a bitch and go find another thread to troll, But I'm done arguing with little children, you can type whatever you want using your fisher price keyboard set as your mommy gets you ready for a fun day at chuck e. cheeses, but I'm done listening to your meaningless argument, all little children can post after me now.
Looking good. I wasn't a huge fan of AC1 but AC2 looks really good and this might be worth a playthrough before tackling AC2. Don't really like my PSP 2000 though. Maybe I'll sell it and get the Go. I dislike UMD's.
I love the AC titles. The first one was a little repetitive but I still played the crap out of it!! The sequel looks badass. Too bad I don't own a PSP cause I would pick this one up too. I love this franchise though. Mostly I love Jade Raymond and she loves me.... we've been dating for quite some time now... but I love the games too! Yep. Life is good.
Thanks to the interwebs I can skip buying an overpriced PSP and just read the synopsis. Guess playing Bloodlines on the PSP isn't REALLY "the only way to get the complete story"
So in other words Ubisoft are asshats who don't know how to write self contained storylines? Awesome. Looks like I'll be skipping this entirely and just read about it on Wikipedia to fill in the gaps once AC2 is out.
