It seems that user-generated content has usurped co-op as the hot new "gotta have it" feature.
Lego Indiana Jones has found a way to bridge the gap between the two features (impressive, considering his stubby legs), allowing two players to create levels simultaneously (a la
LittleBigPlanet) in his upcoming sequel, subtitled
The Adventure Continues. Good news: The feature will appear on Wii as well as 360 and PS3. Bad news: They won't be sharable on any console, which just seems silly.
Our man Jem Alexander reports from the Develop conference that you'll be able to create levels by playing, similar to what we saw in
Modnation Racers during E3. We have no clue how that'll work, but we'd let Mola Ram tear our hearts out to learn more.

...But stupid.
WINterfang @ Jul 16th 2009 10:08AM
Lega Indiana Jones 2? I though the game when from every movie like the star wars did.
baby sea tuna @ Jul 16th 2009 10:11AM
Did the first one include that godawful 4th movie? I wouldn't know since I quit after about 10 minutes when my AI donkey Satipo infinitely respawned on a spike trap rendering the game unplayable.
WINterfang @ Jul 16th 2009 10:16AM
I have only play demos so I don't know.
Vcize @ Jul 16th 2009 11:46AM
Nope, the last game included just the first 3 movies.
Snowblind @ Jul 16th 2009 1:47PM
I know there's going to be those that disagree, but come on. The fourth movie wasn't that bad and even things like "nuking the fridge" was no sillier than many of the things that happened in the previous movies. Are you guys forgeting that Indiana Jones was based on those old action serials?
I have to assume people that complain about that movie so heavily have never seen the others. Go watch Temple of Doom, it was far, far sillier.

Seriously, unless they fix the basic infrastructure of these LEGO games (instead of just reskinning them depending on the license,) I will never buy another one. All 3 (4?) so far have been bug filled messes with increasingly diminishing returns.
Crazy-008 @ Jul 16th 2009 10:31AM
Imagine... Lego Sonic the Hedgehog..... wow.
WINterfang @ Jul 16th 2009 10:45AM
Playing trough all the stages of all the games with every character? Sign me up for that shit.
Peter @ Jul 16th 2009 11:22AM
I fail to see what you're getting at... And I would prefer if the two franchises didn't have anything to do with each other.
Crazy-008 @ Jul 16th 2009 11:30AM
I was referring to the fail that would ensue should they merge.
WINterfang @ Jul 16th 2009 11:54AM
I don't see how any of those two franchises fail in some reason.

Really....I thought this would be something that would be in the very first iteration of Lego Games. I have only bought one Lego game in my life, thinking for some reason there would be an element of creativity and freedom. Instead they have all been (IMO) uninspired platformers with nearly zero difficulty.
CtrlBurn @ Jul 16th 2009 10:54AM
Yeah, so far the LEGO video game franchise hasn't tapped into the creative aspect of LEGO toys at all, which is pretty ridiculous. The games are fun as a relaxing diversion, but the lack of a creative element eliminates any replay value. I'll be interested to see what the level building is like, since so many games have had level building features that pretty much suck. I'm hoping this one surprises me.
Peter @ Jul 16th 2009 11:25AM
In LEGO-Racers you were able to build your own car, and I don't even know if it was made by the same company or not but I think the original idea with Lego games was creativity, now it's just a way to prevent violence and blood in video games and let kids play em.
Professor Lario @ Jul 16th 2009 11:15AM
I still don't know why they took online co-op out of the titles after the Star Wards trilogy. It's the same engine!!
Brucie B @ Jul 16th 2009 11:46AM
