Unless you want to pick up the PC version, which was recently delayed in order to accommodate DirectX 11. Expect it to arrive in December.

WTF Dave Mirra of BMX fame drives off road?
Tyler @ Jul 16th 2009 4:39PM
He probably Flintstones that shit!
Tony @ Jul 16th 2009 12:49PM
Dirt is cool and all, but when are we going to see another Rallisport Challenge? 2 doesn't even work on the 360! :(
J is for me @ Jul 16th 2009 2:16PM
Finally someone else that's played rallisport challenge. It used to be great, but I haven't heard anything from them for ages.
Tyler @ Jul 16th 2009 4:44PM
RS2 is still the best rally game IMO. From my understanding the RS brand is Microsoft exclusive and DICE is now an EA company, so there are some issues. I don't really understand why but yeah...
Ashitaka @ Jul 16th 2009 12:49PM
Nice article title :P
Nerdy Desi @ Jul 16th 2009 12:51PM
Let's hope that DX11 will be worthwhile, the full object-motion blur effects in Crysis look nice when I finally had the chance to run it in DX10 vs DX9. : )
Rasputin @ Jul 16th 2009 12:55PM
What ever happend to WRC that was heaps better then Collin Mcrae. I have the first DIRT but din't like it as much as WRC. Anyone here remeber VRally on PSOne good times, good times we used to have races of that to see how would have to go pick up the pizzas.
(ire)wolfman @ Jul 16th 2009 1:02PM
GT5 has the WRC license.
Rasputin @ Jul 16th 2009 2:33PM
Last time I played Rally in GT it was like driving on marbles has that got any better don't know if I ever played GT4. Bring back WRC stop this Tony Hawks/Matt Hoffman rally game its far to Xtreme for me.
Twinturbo120 @ Jul 16th 2009 3:04PM
That's GT4 buddy. GT5 is super far from GT4. Don't expect rallying racing to be like "marbles" on GT5 lol
Storm Eagle::The Blood Edge @ Jul 16th 2009 12:58PM
This is a Day 1 purchase for me. I absolutely loved the firs DiRT game and this one looks even better.
Captain Planet @ Jul 16th 2009 1:23PM
Not sure if you've seen this already but I wanted to share, just in case =)

Tyler @ Jul 16th 2009 4:57PM
That was amazing. I didn't know humans could do shit like that. Thanks for sharing!
johnny @ Jul 16th 2009 1:14PM
i have this game, its awesome. pigs run out of the mud and onto the track and u can splatter them all over the screen. love it
jerrygspin @ Jul 16th 2009 1:18PM
Did you know that Dice (Battlefield peeps) did the Rallysport Challenge games? Those were good times indeed.
If this game is a Motorstorm in disguise, I'll wait for GT5.
Aaron @ Jul 16th 2009 2:27PM
I dont think its going to be like MotorStorm, but Im not to crazy about it going in the "Extreme Sport" direction. Hopefully it will stay true in "the rally" portion of the game. And its hard to believe the EA never wanted to whore out the RALLI Sport brand on all consoles. Oh well maybe one day DICE will wanna take a break from Battlefield !
Pat @ Jul 16th 2009 4:00PM
I was thinking the same thing. Dirt with "festivals" and "events"? How's that true Rally? That looks more like Motorstorm than the original Dirt or Collin McRae Rally. I'm turned off by this game in this shape. I guess we'll have to wait for GT5 for true rally simulation or play the older Codemasters games.
Suddenly game genres are getting boring. The variety we had a decade ago is gone. Everything is narrowed down to first person shooters and extreme sports racing games with fewer exceptions each day.
Jiminy_Glick @ Jul 16th 2009 1:46PM
The graphics may be better, but this series has really degraded aesthetically. Comparing this to earlier CMR games is like comparing a hot, classy lady in an evening dress to a hot-but-trashy hooker in a thong.
It used to be a highly stylized rally game that had this great, understated look and feel. The codriver's accent, the menus, the music, etc.- It all had a cool European flavor that made you feel like you were participating in a WRC-like event (though I know it wasn't actually an official WRC license).
Now it's chock full of "extreme", mass appeal stuff like Ken Block (I'm sorry, but I can't get over how much he looks like a complete douche), cheesy rock music, and a move toward generalized dirt racing instead of WRC-style rallying. I knew it was a bad sign when Dirt used Travis Pastrana (IIRC) instead of Colin and Co. for the voice overs. LAME.
I'm sure this'll sell more copies than earlier CMR games, but I'll pass.
The Dark Wang @ Jul 16th 2009 3:25PM
You do know colin died, so how would he do the voiceovers?
Aaron @ Jul 16th 2009 2:35PM
I "kind of" agree with you , but I dont have a PS3 to wait and buy GT5 (never thought hey did a good job with rally anyway) and I dont see Forza 3 adding in Rally at the last min. Plus with no other rally game out there DiRT 2 isnt a bad choice.....
Rasputin @ Jul 16th 2009 2:37PM
I totally agree with you there. Did you watch that promo video for DIRT 2 with that guy in a trailer like all Rally Drivers are Rock Stars that drink and party the night before the event. It's almost become a parody of Rally, wish they'd take CM's name off it at least.
nakedatthecomp @ Jul 16th 2009 3:37PM
Oh man, pretty excited for this game. But I just realized, more than anything it makes me want to buy a new STi...
wintermute2039 @ Jul 16th 2009 4:47PM
Christ this game looks lame, I saw that Ken Block fella on Top Gear the other night, yeah he's "extreme" for racing round a desert airstrip but Jesus this game looks as far removed from the original codemasters games as you could get. Poor Colin must be turning in his grave. Can't wait for GT5, finally a game that'll put to good use the WRC license.
Patrick @ Jul 16th 2009 5:25PM
I'm buying it for sure, adored DiRT 1.
GeorgeHK @ Jul 20th 2009 8:19AM
As usual, the origin country (the UK) is the last one to get it. And we'll probably get charged the most too.
sssunnysen01 @ Aug 7th 2009 11:49PM
