Peace Walker may be a PSP game, but that's not stopping Hideo Kojima from treating it as his Metal Gear Solid 5. Kojima explains that "the main staff of MGS4 are producing it," and as such, "they are aiming for PS3 quality because they were creating MGS4 on the PS3 not too long ago." Obviously, the PSP is significantly less powerful than Sony's home console, but the team is trying to push the PSP in new ways, "expressing this in ways only we can express it in."
Kojima wouldn't confirm how the multiplayer gameplay of Peace Walker will work, but he does promise it will be "stealth-action based." Some new additions exclusive to the PSP game include "a variety of other different cardboard boxes," the ability to customize Snake's gear configurations, and a "growth feature" where "your character evolves." As usual, the coy designer avoided going into specifics.
Check out brand new screenshots of the game (scheduled for a 2010 release) here:

I have a launch psp, but I would rather have this game come out on some other platform. I am always really reluctant to buy PSP games for some reason.

This is another reason I need a PSP. Screenshot 4 looks like they're on the right track to making this game look stunning. And Screenshot 5? Well.....LOL. "Love Pack"

I'm pretty sure "Love Pack" is the Japanese translation for "Dick in a Box".

I was JUST thinking yesterday when I fired up MGS2 for the umpteenth time that we've got our terrestrial Metal Gear, and even an amphibious Metal Gear, but where's our flyin' Metal Gear?
Touche, Kojima.

When I see the name Kojima I see crap, so saying he wants quality means fuck all.

So in other words you need a PSP 2000 or better and a 1000 will not be enough to run it right. Great. Agreed this would have been a good PSN title with DLC Chapters or DLC to MGS4. Or alteast allow for PSP Plus through and update to MGS4. Since I have a 1000 Sony should be able to allow for video out via the USB through PS3.

A Tad off topic but -
Can Kojima just give us a Yes or No about a achievement patch?
I know he's the kind of guy to play with his fans but he almost acts like no one is asking for it.
Me personally I kinda gave up on us ever getting one a long time ago.
As for Peace Waler, Game looks AMAZING

Same here, but I have a feeling this game will be good either way, plus we've got MGS Rising to look forward too on 360/PS3

Great. I wonder how many people will take this as "psp is capable of ps3 quality."

PS3 quality as opposed to the sub-PS3 quality other MGS game that Kojima doesnt seem too keen to be associated with? That E3 2009 MS announcement increasingly seems to be like a damp squib

MGS2 looks better than many ps3 games. I guess they can make an awesome job with peace walker.
It will be a day 1 purchase for me, or pre-order.
Now I want too see more !

I'm afraid to be excited for this one. I was had such high hopes for MGS4, but once i got through the first chapter all the excitement went away...
You can vote down my comment, but i think MGS4 was not a focused game! It was more like a 40 hour movie with an hour of gameplay. Atleast on the PSP there should be a reasonable amount of dialog (i love a good story, but it needs to be good.)
Anyway my fingers are crossed but i'm not holding my breath.
