Of course. As soon as I buy the 360 version, they release a solid date and specs for the PC version. At least the game is fun though. I wouldn't mind playing it again on my PC.

Plus double the achievments *thumbs up*; on the PC its on GFWLive I believe. :)

TBH, I really wish chumps like us didn't have to double dip on these things. I don't in general, but I did on UT3 (the 360 is aweful in comparison BTW. I think the PS3 version is closer to the PC other than graphics) but only because I already had it on PC and one of my mates wanted to play on 360. I only wish it got more recognision, 'cause it's much better than halo or gears by a long shot in my opinion (although it's still no UT 2004).

Anyway, I digress (damn alcohol). Why is the release date so far behind on PC? I hope it's because they're polishing up the graphics and optimising it for PC; I'm sick of crappy console ports - the PC is capable of so much more.

@Stewart Bananas, why did you even get it on 360 if you were going to get it on PC as well? All you're doing is encouraging the publishers/developers to stagger the release so that those with more than one platform double-dip. I could maybe understand if it was some tripple-A title, but it's not, it's Red Faction Guerrilla (no offense to the guys who made it, but Red Faction has never been a great series as far as I'm concerned, but then that might just be me)

@Alphathon

I got it on the 360 because there had been no news on the PC version in a while and I wasn't sure how it would turn out on the PC. Plus, I had the extra cash and had been excited about it for a while so I figured why the heck not!

I'm not sure if I'll actually pick it up on the PC now that I have the 360 version, but if I have a few friends getting it then I'll probably give in and grab it too.

I even found Casual a little more difficult than it needed to be. The first mission I went on in the second area ended up with me being absolutely SWARMED by EDF.

See, I played the whole game on the normal setting. I found it hard, but I also immensely enjoyed that. Instead of beating the game in a couple of hours, I had to retry a couple of missions over and over, and you really had to put some thought into how to approach it.

I can't tell enough people how great this game is.

i've only played the demo, and the only thing i found wrong with it was that it didn't tell me that a TON of things were explodable... i ran around with my hammer just hitting things, and a lot of times, i would just die in a random explosion. eventually i figured out all the little things that explode, but it still was a bit annoying. the demo was fantastic though.

The game is ridiculous. I played it on normal.

You just end up dead. While you're working on the primary objective, 3 guys show up. While you're killing those 3 guys and picking up ammo from their bodies because you can't carry enough to avoid it, 8 guys show up. While you kill those 8, uncountable enemies show up. And if you die, the morale in the area goes down, so the amount of help you get from the locals drops, making it even harder.

And yeah, then there's the instant explosion deaths. You're just going along and you shoot or bomb some object that turns out to be explosive itself. And bam you're dead. Now you have to drive a long way (usually) from the middle of nowhere to try again. This is really baffling that it could do this junk because other cases which you think might be instant death are not. For example, maybe you accidentally take out a critical support and a building falls on you. Usually (not always), you'll survive it with a tiny bit of health left.

It's really fun for 90 minutes, the next city (which is much larger) is okay. By the time the mech battles start, you might as well quit playing the fun is over. I finally quit when there was a mission to do that is over an enormous hole in the ground, every time you make a mistake it's an instant death and you have to drive a long way to get back there. This is completely, completely stupid. I cannot imagine how the developers never got any feedback on this during testing.

Wow...it's awesome that they made the min-spec that low. Assuming that it's accurate that is.

Volition's been a class-act from the hilarious april fools video, to an awesome game, to bringing it to the PC in a broad way.

I had tons of fun with this on X360, totally recommend it. The plot is meh, but who cares? It's so much fun destroying stuff.

Here's the key to survival: Even though it violates your every instinct, when the EDF forces start showing up do NOT stand and fight them, you will die. Finish the job if you're real close, but either way run away till status is green again.

Later on when you have arc welder with three streams maybe you can hang around. But you are a guerrilla. Don't stand and fight - run in, do damage, then GTFO.

Picking this up for the 360 tomorrow. Pretty excited but wanted to ask how the multiplayer is? Is it one of those games where after a month there's gonna be no players on? Ex. Fear 2?

actually the multiplayer is amazing! its some of the most fun i've had in a while, due to the chaos that ensues when you give each person a different backpack with special powers such as bulldozing down people or flying in the air or running really fast. I don't know about if people are still playing, because I got it at launch, but my xbox has been broken for around 3 weeks now, and I didn't play it before that cause of prototype, but when I first got it it was great

Well plan to get it either way because the single player just looks ridiculously fun but glad to get reassurance that it has good multiplayer.

I thought normal was really hard too. But I couldn't stomach the idea that I couldn't play this game on the normal setting so I soldiered on until I became good.

Releasing a game about a terrorist who blows up buildings, on September 11. Great idea.

I fail to see why it's a bad idea.

I wonder how long it is until we can't _______ on every day of the year because something bad happened on that day at some point in history.

It seems to be to encourage early sales. I THINK the corporate idea is that if a person has a PC and also a console, they'll just pirate a multiplatform game on the PC rather than buy it for either. So they bring out PC versions a few months later when everybody's forgotten about the game and therefore nobody buys it anyway.

I've heard some troubling things about the PC version, like no dedicated servers, no mods, and such. Hopefully there will be some review of the game to confirm if it's good or not.

Just for the record, Reactor Zero is making the PC version (see http://www.reactorzero.com/projects/ ), not Volition. You can read more about the PC version in the official thread -- http://community.redfaction.com/forums/topic/2772 and check out some screenshots -- http://community.redfaction.com/forums/topic/5551

I just went and had a look at the Quick Look of the 360 version on Giant Bomb, the first time I'd actually seen any gameplay. The physics are just amazing. If the PC version can run those with such low specs as mentioned, then I'm all in for this.

I think I'll pick this up. It looks like a lot of fun, and I really enjoyed the demo. Shame that it's coming out in Sept. though, by then I'll be swarmed by all the fall releases.
I guess I could replace this with Bioshock 2 lol.

I picked this one up about a week ago. Really solid game play with lots of potential based on what I've played so far. It actually delivers on everything "The Outfit" promised back in the 360's early days. It'll be interesting to see what a multiplayer game is like in RF:G.

In the meanwhile, I've been working my way through "Prototype", only to discover the game is actually just a big-budget rehash of "Spiderman: Web of Shadows". The engine, most of the moves and even the leveling system is exactly the same. The only real difference is that the game has all the bug fixes WoS should have had.

I can't believe people are crying about the difficulty of this game. I completed it on hard, not once lowering the difficulty. Sure, the final Mount Vogel mission was rage inducing, but overall the game really wasn't that hard.

I think a lot of people don't understand that you as the protagonist, a guerrilla fighter, aren't supposed to hang around and try to fight an entire army by yourself. Scout out the area, destroy your objective, get the hell out of there.
