Guys, there's a sweet trailer for Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet making the rounds and if you haven't seen it, consider this post an invaluable service. You have to watch it, and we've made sure to tuck it past the break for that purpose. What? No more reading. Go watch it. Now!

Okay, now that you've witnessed its glory, it's only natural to feel a need to fork over some cash. As it turns out, that's exactly what Shadow Planet Productions needs right now, but before you go grabbing that hammer and giving your piggy bank the evil eye, Shadow Planet Productions probably needs more than the $15 you have in there. Good thing Joystiq's biggest demographic is CEOs for investment companies!

We need more 2d side scrollers. I've been playing a lot of Mega Man II and Earthworm Jim these days, so this trailer definitely struck a chord.

By the by, anyone else notice that the game creator's name, Michel Gagné, loosely translates to 'Michael WIN'?

My reaction was it was a cross between Patapon and Lunar Lander. I happen to like the look of Patapon and the gameplay of Lander, so that's good news to me.

Do you honestly think an analog stick would be sufficient in a game like this?

If it's not controlled by a mouse it better be controlled by my mind.

Solar Jetman 2009!

omgwtfbbq that's exactly what I thought as I was watching the video!

Props to all who remember how badass Solar Jetman was, waaaay ahead of it's time. Physics calculations on friggin' 8-bit NES? Getdafuggouttahere!

This game looks to be just as sweet, I'm freakin' sold already!

I loved Solar Jetman. Such an awesome game. Admittedly it hasn't aged well, but I have very fond memories of it. Specifically, the bonus levels. Also, throwing the NES controller on a game over. Ahh, the good old days...

Looks pretty good - if it turns out to be more than trying to keep your spaceship from hitting the edges all the time, I might just have to pick this up.

This looks really promising. Wow, it's like if Patapon hijacked a space saucer and found a planet of 2-D shadow monsters and had a zap-everything fest. Now if only it will get to market and not lose any of it's charm in the interim then I'll be very happy.
And for the record, I have never enjoyed Dimmu Borgir until now. It would be perfectly alright with me if they did the soundtrack because, so far, it fits the game nicely. Just no singing, ever.

Sure, with that badass music the game looks like a killer.

But put the same trailer to the "Benny Hill" theme and...

Fantastically beautiful, sure, but it also looks hell of hard. Like being kicked in the junk by Scarlett Johansson, I can't decide if I want this.

I liked Patapon graphical direction, although I couldn't stand the game itself for more than 5 minutes. Now THIS little fucker looks amazing!
