Bethesda likes you just as you are, Capital Wastelander. At the very least you don't need to keep working on that level grind in Fallout 3, as Bethesda's Jeff Gardiner confirmed to MTV Multiplayer that the game's level cap won't be raised beyond 30. (Back in May, the game's Broken Steel DLC increased the maximum possible level from 20 to 30.)
He did, however, note that he's "sure we'll [Bethesda] look into addressing these concerns in future games." Though the company is farming out development of next year's expansion Fallout: New Vegas to Obsidian, the Fallout IP is still very much in Bethesda's hands -- making us wonder if we'll see what Mr. Gardiner is talking about as soon as next year.

Strange, since 4 days earlier, the production director said otherwise: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/07/13/fallout-3-downloadable-content-on-psn/

Must hold in... rage unrelated to level cap... Fallout 3 would have been a lot better had it gone to some other company!

I'll agree that you're pretty much invincible outside the DLC areas at 30. With a follower outside the DLC areas, even very hard mode isn't too bad. A new cap is really not needed I think. If you want to increase the challenge, try to go everywhere without a follower. I hate how every single tough enemy will always focus on my follower, so I don't even take any damage at all. Kind of ruins the fun. Fawkes turns the normal mode into very easy pretty much.
The biggest challenge is in the Point Lookout areas on very hard against Feral Ghoul Reavers. I HATE those things! Using my A2-31 Plasma Rifles makes it a bit easier, but I try to avoid using that. The challenge of Point Lookout was pretty much perfect. Not too hard and not too easy.

Has anyone seen what the bruisers and creepers do around the camp fire? It's pretty funny.

They should completely get rid of the level cap. It is stupid. All they have to do is make it take longer to level up to make it work better with no cap. I think it is pointless to limit people in a game like this. Sure, it will get too easy eventually, but that's a fitting reward for all the time that would be spent getting a level that high. They could also just add more enemies to help balance it. Maybe I'm crazy, but I just do not see the point in a level cap on a single player game unless they used it on higher difficulties to keep you from being to good.

Sooo, when was it announced that New Vegas would be an expansion? I thought Hines said that while it's not a sequel to Fallout 3, it's "another game in the [same] universe". So it's not an expansion.

"Farming out"?!
How can you "farm out" development to the original creators of the series? This looks to be Van Buren with the Gamebryo engine.

Obsidian isn't the original developer. Yes, there are members of Black Isle that work at Obsidian, and yes, it was founded by former members of Black Isle, but the rights to the game are owned by Bethesda, which means Bethesda farms out the development to another studio (in this case, Obsidian).

I didn't say the game sucked, I said it could have been a lot better with someone else. Bethesda is a lazy-ass developer.

They spend too much time on content and not enough time on game-killing bugs and glitches.
Also what's up with Bethesda not hiring more than 5 people to do voice work? That's super annoying and just looks cheap and lazy to us gamers.
