LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo in action on the PSP Go
Across the Atlantic, the folks at Fase Extra got their hands on Sony's PSP Go and a couple of games recently -- LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo, specifically. Lucky for us, Sony Spain allowed them to grab some video of each game, that we've now conveniently dropped for you after the break.
Here's the thing: We've got another three months or so until the release of PSP Go, and, ya know, it's really pretty. So, while entertaining, these videos do little more for us than tantalize our already over-tantalized mind grapes. Thankfully though, three months should be plenty of time to put away, um, a lot of extra change for the $250 handheld.

Media Molecule had better put that Australia level in LBP2.
Or even better, as DLC for LBP1.
Paul @ Jul 18th 2009 3:14PM
aw yeah! good on ya mate! I reckon that'd be heaps good aye!
johnny @ Jul 18th 2009 11:43AM
Ill stick with my iphone for my portable gaming, games like rolando 2, real racing, need for speed, sims 3, and tiger woods are just as good as psp games. plus the ipod touch do a whole lot more than this overpriced system, oh and all those games i mentioned for iphone are less than 10$ and as good as a $40 psp game. so yeah, ill pass
Maverick Saturn (Igor) @ Jul 18th 2009 11:45AM
Denial ¬_¬ Whatever you say Johnny, if it makes you feel better about yourself.
Jacksons @ Jul 18th 2009 11:45AM
You keep telling yourself that, bud.
tobz1000 @ Jul 18th 2009 11:46AM
kk, lol
Zoinks @ Jul 18th 2009 11:49AM
How much does that iPhone cost you per month?
Yeah.
johnny @ Jul 18th 2009 11:58AM
Zoinks, you do know they make something called an ipod touch right? I make plenty of money i can afford the iphone dont worry about that. and if u must know its $70 a month just like any other smartphone. its funny how you get chastised for having an opinion on the internet. sorry people but the world is filled with different people of all races and colors and opinions, deal with it. and zoinks, how much does those psp games cost you, oh $40 right. well its funny how your so damn stupid u think the ipod touch or iphone will cost more when your paying 4x or more what i pay for a game. come back when you have a VALID argument
PCIV @ Jul 18th 2009 11:58AM
Yea... And battery life? What happens when you need to make a call afterwards?
Tell me you have a better racing sim than GT, and you don't know racing sims.

"Ill stick with my iphone for my portable gaming"
Why would you do that to yourself?
lolJoystiq @ Jul 18th 2009 12:01PM
Wow, little Johnny is mad!
All that shovelware and touch screen mini-crap on the iPhone must be scrambling his brains!
sony boy @ Jul 18th 2009 12:08PM
ok johnny,
tell me who's better in controls in fighting games, racing games, and platformers. i thought so. and also look at the graphics. it's looks like a decent wii game!!!
Ashkental @ Jul 18th 2009 12:08PM
I sold my PSP to get an iPod touch, i'll agree that it's an awesome piece of hardware, i use almost all of it's features, things like safari, maps, some apps, iPod music, etc.
The games are good, true, but you can't compare an iPod to a PSP, the PSP is MUCH more gaming centric, the games are more appealing and it's an overall better experience.... for GAMES that is.
For things like listening to music, viewing videos and internet i'll stick to my iTouch, thx.
Tyler @ Jul 18th 2009 12:10PM
An iphone/touch scratches if you look at it the wrong way and you have a layer of finger smudges after a few minutes of use. I prefer buttons and a far superior game library than my touchscreen wiimote.
Slayer @ Jul 18th 2009 12:16PM

Johnny go away.
Roto13 @ Jul 18th 2009 12:45PM
When Sony Boy can beat your argument without sounding like his usual radical fanboy moron self, you know you're in trouble.
sony boy @ Jul 18th 2009 1:16PM
awww, roto, your so kind.
Bootes @ Jul 18th 2009 1:44PM
There's no question that the PSP is much better for gaming, but when I go out I need a phone more than I need something to play games on. I don't feel like walking around with a million gadgets in my pocket, so my iPhone wins. As much as I like my PSP, it gets very little use since I got my iPhone. On the go I'd rather have my iPhone, at home I'd rather play games on my Xbox 360, PS3, or PC.
@Tyler Other than the shiny metal border, the iPhone is very hard to scratch.
Sly @ Jul 18th 2009 2:00PM
dude, johnny, i have fun playing games on my iphone, but let's get something straight. none of those games will ever replace any of the ones on my trusty PSP for me. the iphone will never have games as deep as jeanne d'arc, monster hunter, or these two up here.
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Jul 18th 2009 2:12PM
I'm actually on my iPod touch right now writing this and I love it. But face it, most the games are terrible mini-games you would expect to see on a wii game. You can occasionally find a gem in the pile but rarely, and some game are just not meant to be played with touch controls, I bought Resident evil: degeneration and it is Virtually unplayable. The game that was most worth my purchase is probably tetris (high score: 305400) because that is the type of games that belong on this.
ToadStoolPorridge @ Jul 18th 2009 3:56PM
I agree with Sly here. Games like Final Fantasy VII, Burnout, Jeanne D'arc, Monster Hunter, God of War, or even something like Hot Shots, Wipeout, or Crush beat any game I have played on the iPhone. I'm not saying I expect PSP quality games for $5 on the iPhone, but the PSP games are much deeper. I'm happy I have both devices and I use them both for different reasons. Yes, everyone is allowed to have their own opinions, but your bringing yourself to the same level as the people you apparently don't like by arguing with them and saying their system is worse and chastising them for having their own opinions (run-on sentence, I know, but whatever).
Andrew R @ Jul 20th 2009 2:32AM
yea except all of those games are horrible and have the worst graphics since the virtual boy... lol and over priced? its $25 more dollars than your cheapest ipod. lol what a douche
bass1x @ Jul 18th 2009 5:01PM
i have never payed 40$ for a psp game. rolando 2, real racing, need for speed, sims 3, and tiger woods all sound like boring gimmick crap .were talking about grand tursimo and little big planet. how can you even compare these two the psp plays real games the iphone plays games just not very well (tilt this touch that).im not putting down the iphone im just disagreeing about the games being the same.i guess if your just going to play sims3 and tigerwoods then the iphones got you covered . you said you can afford the phone and 70 dollars a month plus a couple games so i dont understand why a psp would put you off i mean its a real gaming consle with buttons and real controls real games the games average 20 to 30 bucks and are awesome and do things the iphone never could.
PedoJokerBear (aka Deeznuts) @ Jul 18th 2009 7:29PM
how can u play those games with all the smudges you leave on it after the porn?
Reader @ Jul 18th 2009 9:02PM
So... full of fail... so full. I'd attack you point by point, but I don't have time to write a novel tonight.
marvinnnnnn @ Jul 18th 2009 9:37PM
@johnny
LOLolololoolol you fail sooo hard
Onyxium @ Jul 19th 2009 1:10AM
So, paying 70 bucks a month is sooooo much better than paying one time for the PSP? Over time you are screwed. So what if the game cost 4 times more, at least we get to play them with out buying into some service plan. iPhone = overrated.
Matt G. @ Jul 19th 2009 5:59PM
Johnny, please do me a favor and do the math for this. I know absolutely nothing about iPhones or iPod Touches and such, so I'll put faith in your number of $70 per month. A new PSP3000 costs $200, which is just shy of three months of service on your iPhone. After that, you're spending way more for your portable gaming than PSP owners because it's only $15-40 per new PSP game and you've still got your $70 monthly fee. I'm just thinking from the perspective of being thrifty. You might be getting the same value, but you're paying much more over time. It doesn't matter that your games cost less.
I'll give you an example of something that costs less than PSP gaming. Playing an MMO like WoW. That's only $15 and saps all your available free time so you don't feel like going out and buying console or handheld games. Now THAT'S being thrifty. :P
Maverick Saturn (Igor) @ Jul 18th 2009 11:39AM
I think I speak for everyone (that owns a PSP or wants one) when I say, both of those look ........ FRIKKING GORG
DO WANT :D
PN04 @ Jul 18th 2009 4:31PM
"Thankfully though, three months should be plenty of time to put away, um, a lot of extra change for the $250 handheld."
OOORR, you could just buy the current model and save some damn money right NOW.
nukee @ Jul 18th 2009 6:47PM
Agree. I know I'll definitely be getting LBP and probably pick ups GT once it gets cheaper. The PSP is finally getting some big title love.
Kill a mans jiro @ Jul 18th 2009 11:43AM

This really happens every time, doesn't it?
Jamesology @ Jul 19th 2009 9:25AM
Sorry Johnny, I have an IPhone and just to inform you that not every app is compatible with the itouch. I love my IPhone and PSP but if you cannot tell the difference between Gran Turismo and Real Racing look and feel then you need to get your Coka Cola bottle glasses thickened.
P.S. I would still not invest in a PSPGo at that price, too much love for my PSP1000 (FTW).
Maverick Saturn (Igor) @ Jul 18th 2009 11:44AM
Its nice to see one of my favourite tracks from GT4 in GTPSP :D The amount of rears I've kicked on that track = Countless
Tyler @ Jul 18th 2009 11:44AM
I can't get over how much PSP games continue to improve, graphics wise. I'm happy to own one.
Jacksons @ Jul 18th 2009 11:45AM

That thumb position on the LBP video looks pretty cramped! I would have pain after extended play of any kind!

VyX @ Jul 18th 2009 1:58PM
Can't you just use the d-pad for lbp?
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Jul 18th 2009 2:23PM
@VyX
You can't use the d-pad in the PS3 version so I expect the same here.
The d-pad was used for emotions for sackboy to display.
johnny @ Jul 18th 2009 11:48AM
i agree too, tiger woods and need for speed are better than the psp versions and onder $10. i could buy 4 of those games for psp game. nuff said
lolJoystiq @ Jul 18th 2009 11:52AM
Looks like someone's insecure about their iPhone purchase!
Keep trying to convince yourself you made the right choice, hoss. =)
PSP > Gimped iPhone "Gaming".
silverwolf761 @ Jul 18th 2009 12:00PM
The only person I've seen mention Tiger Woods and NFS was you in regard to the iPhone, so are you.... agreeing with yourself?
Kill a mans jiro @ Jul 18th 2009 12:01PM
for somone that spells under > onder You defo made the right choice with Iphone over PSP...... ¬_¬
tmacairjordan87 (aka Mr. Negativity) @ Jul 18th 2009 12:02PM
Cmon Jobs don't you have better things to do than to troll the competition, like making a new Iphone every 5 months?
Shattercross @ Jul 18th 2009 12:05PM
You are aware that the iphone wasn't designed for gaming in the first place, righ? The PSP is a gaming platform, made with games in mind- it's not an mp3 playing phone with an accelerometer that just happens to have games. Your iphone games are simple distractions that lack the depth of PSP's full fledged games.
sony boy @ Jul 18th 2009 12:10PM
need for speed is like 20 bucks. and it has better controls.
