Here's the thing: We've got another three months or so until the release of PSP Go, and, ya know, it's really pretty. So, while entertaining, these videos do little more for us than tantalize our already over-tantalized mind grapes. Thankfully though, three months should be plenty of time to put away, um, a lot of extra change for the $250 handheld.
LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo in action on the PSP Go

Across the Atlantic, the folks at Fase Extra got their hands on Sony's PSP Go and a couple of games recently -- LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo, specifically. Lucky for us, Sony Spain allowed them to grab some video of each game, that we've now conveniently dropped for you after the break.

definetely wont be buying a psp go, £230 on an improved version of a console i already have is really something i cant justify, i mean thats only £50 less than a ps3 which i do want but cant afford, played lbp loved it, so ill definetely be buying lbp on psp, im sure it wont quite live up to its ps3 brother but itll make me feel less sore about not having a ps3

LBP certainly seems to transfer quite well. Maybe here it will find a somewhat stronger reception. The original had excellent sales for a new IP, but let's see if they can't build on it.

Johnny,
Get back to me when you can play Jeanne D'Arc, God of War, Final Fantasy: Crisis Core, and other similar titles on the IPod Touch/Phone.

OMG Gran Turismo looks amazing! The japanese have manage to create a game with ps2 quality on a psp, whats next a psp that can teleport you? And anyway the PSP and PSP GO! are gaming devices the iPhone (idiotPhone) is a phone that can play games. And the PSP and PSP Go! can have more storage space then the iPhone, plus if an idiot with an iPhone pisses me off I'd throw me PSP-1000 at his face.

Both of these are looking stunning. How big of a file do you think Gran Turismo will be? With all the cars, tracks, and detail, I bet it'll be a pretty hefty download.

Or maybe I should have wiki'd it too.
"However he has said the game will run at 60 FPS and take up only 1GB of storage."
once again, *embarrassed face*

Gran Turismo could be worlds better. I mean it looks great, but the same physics and controls as GT1? D-pad to steer, rail-riding, car sounds like a dustbuster? 2 1/2 years late? Grim...And confirmed ONLY 4 cars on the track any given race? That's a dealbreaker, ladies....

There was a choice, more cars or better track graphics, I prefer the latter.

Actually my opinion means every bit as much as yours, which was my point in the first place. I just prefer playing my portable games on a device that gives me access to all of the other activities I enjoy in my spare minutes (facebook, shopping, paying bills, doing research). I am a parent and don't have a lot of large blocks of gaming time. So when I get some, I'll make sure it's done on my 50+ inch TV. Also, Rolando, Doom, geoDefense, Flight of the Amazon Queen, and Mystique are all experiences similar to those you'd find on PSP or DS and a couple of those (along with many others) were free. Let's also not forget the iPod Touch is barely a year old as a gaming device. Look at the competitors selection during that time.

But the Iphone is simply doing what other phones were doing but better, to those who want that quality, they will go for iPhone, but for those who want serious gaming on the go, not just casual tetris like games, but serious Final Fantasy / God of war etc type gaming, the PSP or DS is the best choice, not to mention the control setup is far easier to handle, touch is great in certain circumstances, but not in all.
If general day to day stuff is more your thing, then PSP won't be your thing, if you want something that plays GAMES, not mini games, then PSP will suit you, its as simple as that really.

the iphone literally costs thousands of dollars to use and its only value proposition here is simplistic gaming + mobile phone and the ipod touch is not a mobile phone

Mr. "I need to show everyone how badass I am by telling them I steal all the games that developers put countless hours into": you are the type of person that has helped ruin and diminish the future of the PSP gaming library

LPB PSP (hehe) looks amazing. The graphics are pretty crisp and the gameplay looks like it's older brother. Nice job Sony, you have my money :D.
Gran Turismo looks pretty good too, not much into racing gmaes, but I'll check it out.
