Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition exclusive to HMV in UK, GameStop in Ireland

UK retailer HMV has secured an exclusive on the Prestige Edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. (Y'know, the one with the night vision goggles.) The chain's online store confirms availability of the title on November 10 at a price of £149 ($243). It's noted that the edition will be in limited availability, although the limit of three to a customer is quite generous for a collector's item.

We've also received word from a retail source that GameStop will carry the set exclusively in Ireland, where it will sell for €149 ($211).

Did we mention it includes night vision goggles?

This set made me want some NVGs bad so I found the eyeclops at Target for $47.
They work pretty well. They only have one screen so it takes some getting used too.
I wonder if the Prestige's goggles have two screens. Any vender information coming out on this?

For those arguing the point as to why someone would like to buy the "Prestige Edition" and those who are happy to opt for the "Harderned" or "Normal" package is entirely out of choice! Thats why its there, if you dont want it no one is forcing you to buy it. Just be happy that theres a choice.

Yeah i agree demon, people will always find something to complain about tho. but its nice to see a choice usually most companies just put out a game on a take it or leave it kinda basis. yeah activision are only puttin out this many versions for one reason....cough money cough but still its nice that those who want to have the best edition can do so

I'm happy enough with the normal edition with the COD title still on the case. I like the Steel case, but i don't think its worth splashing out on a crap Art book, and Cod1. Can get Cod1 for a few pounds now, i don't know how they justify the prices of these editions.

You know, those NVG's are probably going to be a flashlight with a green filter infront of it, covered in bulky plastic. I can just imagine the youtube videos now, "Look i'm playing MW2 with my Night vision! lololol".

There's not a chance in hell Activison/IW are packaging real ENVG's worth hundreds of dollars (If not thousands).

I guess the rest of the package is pretty cool....

Complain all you want people... I guarantee they sell out at Midnight...I mean I'm not buying one... but it will.

I'll just never understand how a grown adult could spent an extra 100+ dollars to get a set of fake night vision goggles.

Everyone who loves the COD franchise should care about the COD 1 download. Without COD 1, this post would never have existed for you to bitch about and get ridiculed by others. COD 1 was my first foray into multiplayer destruction.
