I don't know why marvel has decided to ruin it (ultimates) Jeph Loeb has ruined the Ultimates and ultimate x men has had bad writing that has convoluted continuity. Spiderman is still good and ultimate 4 was strong until they started musical chairs with that books writers. Only Bendis, Millar, Ellis, and Orson Scott Card should be allowed to write those books.

Seriously, I'm beginning to think that Marvel WANTS people to abandon the Ultimate line. Jeph Loeb single-handedly ruined The Ultimates 3, and now he's ruining the entire Ultimate Universe with Ultimatum. (Ultimate X-Men went downhill as soon as Robert Kirkman started writing it, and now, thanks to Jeph Loeb, most of the X-Men are dead.) I can only hope that Mark Millar can return the Ultimate line to its former glory with Ultimate Comics Avengers.

I think it's more about being the ultimate game and not about the ultimate universe.

If it was about the Ultimate universe, you could count me out.

Lesson learned: gamers would rather unlock in-game bonuses the old fashioned way; we gamers prefer CD's, figurines, art cells, posters (anything but in-game bonuses) for pre-order bonuses.

I'm not paying $60 at launch just to get a downloadable character. If any game company wants me to pay full price, they're going to have to pony up some awesome pre-order bonuses. Give me a soundtrack or a sweet comic book miniseries or something. Otherwise, I'll just wait for the discounted game and not worry one bit about having Juggernaut in it.

This.

There is no level of Juggernaut bitchery that is worth a pre-order.

Unless I get voice samples from the clip.

Then there's people like me, who would be happy to pay $60 on day one...just not at Gamestop.

Sorry Activision, my conscience wins out over my desire to yell 2005 catchphrases at my TV screen.

Majority of the pre-order bonus' end up as DLC anyway. Unless you're a die hard fan, barely any pre-order bonus alone is worth buying a $60 title. If your decision is being swayed by an in-game character or a new skin, you obviously need to think harder about whether you want this game or should save your money.

I wasn't interested in this game at all, but it would be a first day buy if they included the juggernaut voiced by the guy in the vid. comb your beard, i don't wanna hear that shit....

when i first saw this post i thought the pre order goodie was a juggernaut statue or at least an action figure, now that i know it's just a stupid character in game i'm disappointed. Will probably buy the game when it hits $20.

im expected to pay $60 for what essentially is going to be an incomplete game unless i "play ball" and pre-order from wherever you tell me to?

i got a better idea, Activision, how 'bout you go f*ck yourself and I'LL decide when & where i purchase my games? in fact, i might not even purchase this game anymore.

how's that grab ya?

Shouldn't Juggernaut be in the game ordinarily? This seems to me to be more of a threat than a bonus. "Hey kids! If you don't preorder the game, you're going to get a shitty, stripped-down version that's missing playable characters!"

and on top of that, to make it GameStop exclusive? I don't think they could have done much more to guarantee that I'm not going to buy their game.

It's a shame I refuse to shop at Gamestop... also a shame that I never impulse buy titles at launch anymore. No demo = no buy. Been burned too many times by new releases to ever buy a game I haven't tested out first.

i do like jef loeb but i would have never put him on an ultimates book.
having said that, i think marvel sorta updated its ''regular world'' universe and helped
destroy the need for the ultimate stuff.

btw im NOT liking the way there bringing steve rogers back......

dc reset button anyone??

(sorry for bringing this waaaay off topic!!!!!)

The pre-order with juggernaut should come with a speakerphone mic for the xbox, and an in-game counter with voice recognition to keep up with how many times you say "Bitch". Maybe even let you program it to yell it to activate his ultimate power.

I'm getting really tired of this pattern. Activision is not the sole company to do this, I mean give aways like early beta access or head starts or naming reservations on MMORPGs is fine but for minor OCD freaks like my self or even fans this gets kinda frustrating. I don't think game changing elements should be "pre-order bonus" items and it certainly should not be vendor specific.

For example, I like Rock Band, I like The Beatles. I currently do not have the full instrument set (girlfriend bought me my plastic guitar on sale at HMV.) So, I think to my self, I'm going to get The Beatles instrument set. I go to the EB website because there are tracks ONLY available to EB preorders and I really want as much Beatles tunage as possible. Problem is they only deliver to the US, whilst I have family in the US last time I tried to deliver something to an address other then what was on my credit card they ended up canceling and not telling me (which started a legacy of doubled up purchases trying to get a silly box on Ebay.) So, I wander in to my local EB. Turns out they are completly sold out of preorders of the deluxe pack here in Canada. They HAD it but I was too late (see a week after they started taking preorders.) So, either I have to find some way to order this damn game in the US and ship it to Canada or I don't get the four tracks that only comes from EB preorders.

This is just upsetting in general, I mean in this case I don't care. Whopity doo, Juggernaut. Professor X's insecure overcompensating half brother can take a flying leap, it's just this "preorder or don't get it" or even worse "prorder from EB or don't get it" that's bugging the bejezus out of me.

As big of a Juggernaut fan I was pre-X-Men 3, I'm not stepping one foot in a Gamestop to get that game. I'll just keep my fingers crossed that he becomes available later on somehow. And I bet the Thor unlock is just like the Silver Surfer, where he unlocks later in the game.
