This Wednesday: 'Splosion Man blowing up XBLA

Wow, this is awkward. Sure, we're excited that 'Splosion Man 800

($10) is coming to the XBLA this Wednesday. But pre-SoA shuffle, this was to be the week of the turtles' return with TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-shelled. The bad thing is that we completely forgot to cancel the order for our turtle-celebrating supplies, and the FedEx guy just arrived.

So, if you happen to spy us playing 'Splosion Man while we rock out to our mint condition Coming Out of Their Shells Tour cassette and eat the TMNT Pudding Pies recently discovered in a New Mexico warehouse, try not to judge, OK?

Maybe it's the Anti-Sprinkles.
Sprinkles would've defended anything remotely associated with Xbox.

Turtles in Time is a classic for a lot of people - the remake is certainly a valid reason to get excited. Of course, you don't strike me as someone older than maybe 14 or 15, so I don't think you'd know that.

I might be thinking of the wrong game, but I thought the 'Splosion Man character model looked like an anime version of Iron Man.

It's weird how similar this and Explodemon! are. They were even both announced on April Fools Day. Except this is Xbox exclusive while the Explodemon is on WiiWare, PSN and PC. Almost seems like it was planned this way...

You beat me to it on the two tittles. We'll see how `Splosion Man does. I personally really enjoyed The Maw from Twisted Pixel so I'm looking forward to this.

Wait, they're different titles?! No wonder I'm so confused by where the different name came from.

The Maw was excellent, so I'm really looking forward to this. It's good to see more platformers being developed for XBLA, definitely something I want to see more of. Certainly a lot more excited for this than certain overpriced fighting game ports.

I liked the Maw too so I will definately try this.

The Maw was fun and this game looks to be good as well. 4 players sploding on the screen. It sounds weird when you say it, but I should be fun! Glad it's not 1200 points too!

I actually had 'Coming Out of Their Shells' on cassette, I bought it and MC Hammer 'Too Legit to Quit' on the same day. Man I had awesome taste in music as a kid.

I can do you one better, I actually went to see the concert.

While I have not been even remotely interested in this particular game, it has been getting early rave reviews, so it makes me wonder if it might actually be very good after all. The reviews indicate it's actually pretty challenging throughout the game. Certainly the demo will shed some light on it.

I love Twisted Pixel and all (Mostly because I loved The Maw) ... but I really, really was looking forward to Turtles instead of this. The shuffling dates pissed me off.

Had the cassette, ate the pies. Plural. (They weren't that bad, actually!)

I would kill for one of those pies right now. I remember coming across one about 5 years after they stopped making them, bought it, ate it, was delicious.

I'm literally buying a 360 for Shadow Complex.

Xplodemon looks better. Can wait for it. Well, I guess I can. XD
