i wish i could inject my own character into the comic or the other novel. its weird thinking of commander shepard as a guy, just watching trailers is awkward.

I'm always up for more Mass Effect. I hope they come out with new novels eventually. I guess a comic will have to do for now. :D

I'm actually starting to get annoyed with this game-based-comics being made.

Eh, it's cool if you want some extra insight into the story.

If they do add something extra, they are worth it. But when they pretty much copypasta the scenario of the game leaving you with all that wonderful story minus the interactivity, they are waste of time and money. Killer7's comic outing was such a letdown :(

I know. I didn't realise that if I liked games, I'm suppose to like books, comics and movies of games.

I'm so tired of this game to comic bullshit. They never last long and they're just attempts to cash in on the popularity of said game.

That being said being a 360 fanboy and die hard Mass Effect fanboy (hope ME 2 stays 360 exclusive) I may just end up buying it since it will reveal some tidbits in between the 1 and 2.

But I definitely don't like the idea nor how they're doing it.

I'd saying it's ruining the comic genre. But that'd be ignorant of me as I have no insight into it anymore, as I haven't read one in 15-16 years or so. I'm pretty sure back then when I did actually read comics that the shelves had ample enough amounts of garbage anyway, so I retract my initial statement. I'm going to posit that there is the same amount of crap now as there was then, just that the form/origins have changed.

To me the most annoying thing about it is that comics back in the day (and I'm only 23) ran for a decent amount of time before stopping. My impression is that the classics (Spider Man, X-Men, etc) all ran for YEARS.

And now a days we've got a comic book series that runs for a few months...IF we're lucky. To me that doesn't seem like something worth getting invested in. To me if I want to read a comic I damn well expect the story to continue for a decent period. Especially if it's based on a great material/universe like Mass Effect. Just like a good television series can last for multiple years I expect a great comic book series to draw me in and have me want to keep reading for a long time.

And you'd hit the nail right on the head. I wasn't reading comics 15 years ago (too young back then), but I've always heard that the overall landscape of things hasn't changed much since the late 70's/early 80's.

are you serious? Captain America just made it's 600th issue, and Thor did it in May. Spider-Man is set to do it in I think October. I dont know what you're talking about, comics still last for years. Cable and Deadpool lasted from Civil War to the start of Secret Invasion, and Deadpool's own series has been going for months since then. Batman is posed to reach 700 by next year and detective comics is close to 2000 issue count!

Why the fuck do you care if ME2 is not a 360 exclusive? In what way does that take away from your experience? Grow the fuck up.

Yes, I'm in a bad mood today.

Gaming comics are really hit or miss. Seeing as the mass effect team seems pretty deeply entrenched in the creation of this one, i doubt it will be a miss. I might pick it up. Then again, i haven't spent any money on comic books that weren't from japan in a long time...

mmm sexy liara.
eh probably go to to a borders or barnes and noble and read through it and grab a coffee.
hopefully it will tide me over till the game.

Hopefully it is good cause the book sucked. The guy's writing style was attrocious. no sublety in the text at all. It was always he did some blank because he learned blank from basic training or some such. every moved need to be justified for some reason in this exact format.

I wonder if it'll have a fox special like the game, or at least another blue chick side butt scene. Loved the game a lot, here's hoping it'll cover as much or more than the books.

Count me in. John Jackson Miller does incredible work on Dark Horse's Knights of the Old Republic series. It's one of the few Star Wars comics that really captures the feel of the Original Trilogy: lovable, memorable characters, fantastic action, and more importantly (as it's something missing from most of the Star Wars EU) honest-to-goodness humor.

Plus this isn't like DC's tie-in minis; this is Dark Horse comics, a publisher with a great track record in tie-in comics (Star Wars, Buffy, etc.). With Miller on board and Dark Horse publishing, I'm definitely grabbing this when it hits.
