Epic recently hooked us up with the new Gears of War 2 maps included in the upcoming Dark Corners expansion, so we decided to put together a little video showcasing the new levels. Above you'll find footage of all seven new maps, so dive right in and enjoy. Dark Corners, along with All Fronts, will be available for download through Xbox Live on July 28 for 1,200 ($15) and 1,600 ($20), respectively.
Too little, too late. GoW2 is a good play through the first time, Horde mode is fun but Epic has done a poor job of supporting GoW2's multiplayer. Perhaps I'm just spoiled by Infinity Ward and Bungie's online/multiplayer support structure.
You're right, Epic did a very poor job supporting GoW2's multiplayer. I mean, what with releasing new map packs consistently and actively fixing bugs, and connectivity issues, with each Title Update, I wonder if they even care about their customers.
I don't know what that guy is talking about. Epic hasn't fixed anything. Their solution to every bug is "add a stun and introduce 3 new bugs."
The mortar blind fires when users are trying to shoot up into the air. Never once did anyone say "it blind fires when we shoot and try to drop it quickly." What does epic do? ad a 3 year stun to the mortar so that when it does blind fire you have no chance of escape... and then they make smoke grenades not stun you at all when you have the mortar, just an instant drop. How the hell does that make sense?
I completely agree. Props to *Bungie and Infward, making good MP. Shame on Epic. For gears 3 they should just copy Halo 3 and make the game balanced and the matchmaking intuitive.
What I hate about Halo 3's MP is that I spend $25 buying map packs then never play them. Maybe one out of 20 matches is on an expansion map.
They should revise the veto system also. I think they should provide 4 choices of game type and map that are each assigned to a button (X,Y,A,B) and then have a vote by the players. Yes it would increase load times but I think the vetoing of pre-determined games takes more time.
This is all Epic have to do to fix Gears 2 multiplayer:
USE DEDICATED SERVERS!
Epic = Cheap B*st*rds
We know they use Servers them as Unreal Tournament 3 has them... Why not use Dedicated Servers on a much more popular game? It just doesn't make sense.
ugh, grammar fail. I hope my question still gets across. "Does the new maps on dark corners be available for sale, rather than getting all the maps 15$ since i already own the first 3 dlc." better?
"Dark Corners" is the package of just the 7 new maps and the deleted campaign. "All Fronts" is the package that contains all previous DLC, as well as Dark Corners.
You can get all the DLC for $20 which is the All Fronts package. $15 is the price for just the new stuff (Dark Corners = 7 new maps + single player chapter).
The 7 maps included in Dark Corners are not maps that were released in the Flashback, Combustible, or Snowblind map packs. Dark Corners is 7 maps never before seen on GoW2.
Seriously? You're not joking? Is the punchline that subtle? Did you also not get the "Left 4 Dead Won't Be" headline of one of the stories on the site a while ago? I'm curious.
Seriously joystiq, can you change the way you enter the birth date on the videos? clicking the year button 20 times isn't very fun. Make it a drop down list like everybody else please.
Looks like rehashed campaign maps with a few edits. Nevertheless, its still a good deal, I'm getting it because of it's value. Yeah, Epic didn't really support GoW2 MP a bit better than I wanted, but most of the stuff is fixed, and it's still fun. You don't need to be a Gears fan to enjoy the MP.
this is bullshit no1 cares about the new mission but are they gonna sell the mappack seperately for 800 cause i just bought the last mappack for 800 till this 1 and i only have 800 left and i thought this was gonna be 800 also since all mappacks are 800
