Aren't all these 'new' features already available in Rock Band 2?

For the most part. Can't play 4 drums or multiple guitars together.

All the RB feature updates have been free though and are adding a really good track development tool set soon.

Good god, who would actually be masochistic enough to want to play with four sets of drums going at once!?

@WiredKnight

Guitar Hero fanboys trying to prove that they can do 4 drums at once just to piss of Rockband fanboys.

It's more of a reason to allow the vocalist to opt out, as it is the least favorite instrument.

feel good inc... great song, but it's gonna be a bit boring on guitar. does anyone know if world tour songs are transferable to 5, and if characters like hendrix and osborne are too?

Harmonix already has some of these songs for RB.

"Sex on Fire" from Kings of Leon is coming out on GH5, but I just played it yesterday on RB.

if rock band gets the rest of nevermind, some songs from demon days by the gorillaz, some more songs from wolfmother, and some more songs from metallica, i'll never look at guitar hero again (unless they somehow got led zeppelin).

GH Metallica pretty much killed any future Metallica DLC for Rock Band, but its a good game so I can't knock it.

Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society. He's not even Ozzy's guitar guy anymore. FYI

When did he stop playing for Ozzy? This is the first time I've ever heard anything about it. Can't seem to find info on the net about it either.

They should just use Dream Theater's song "The Best of Times" instead. You get the riff from Spirit of Radio AND more sales to elitist metal fans. Win-win, no?*

Yes, I am being sarcastic...

The Live version of The Spirit of Radio is from Snakes and Arrows Live and comes near the end of the track list. Geddy is so tired sounding it's unbearable outside of the concert context.

I just wish Rock Band would show Tool the same love - truly one of the best bands of our generation.

3 is not nearly enuf, considering they used them as a carrot to play through the rest of the game

What? The Tool songs in GH:WT were not used as a carrot to play through the rest of the game. The Tool setlist was available near the beginning of the Career. The real carrot for me was Pull Me Under, I played through that monstrosity of a game to get my Dream Theater fix only to realize that the song is the remixed version that appeared on their Greatest Hit album. (The remix makes the song sound like it was mixed in 2007 and and not 1992.)

Activision paid TOOL for exclusive right for their songs like they did with Metallica and Aerosmith, thus no Tool for RB.

I am on the Why bother with Guitar Hero band wagon.

In a few weeks I'll be able to literally create my own tracks for my songs in Rock Band and sell them. It isn't some mini in game feature either. It the same tools the development team in using right now and selling to the public each week.

RB2 also has to have my most hours logged in my disc tray. Sure some people say you a Rhythm gamed out. I agree I've been there. Recently I started to get my second wind for the game. Now I find myself Downloading songs again, getting excited to play a few songs when I get home from work... All from that same RB2 disc I bought so many months ago.

this is getting long. I wanted to go over Band Hero vs Lego Rock Band (I can't tell the difference between GH5 and BH except that I may not be pretty enough or a big enough Celebrity to play it) and how at least LegoRB is different if still the same formula. I didn't even get the the Beatles...

It depends. Lifeson can struggle with the fast riff live sometimes, but Geddy's voice is always haunting in it (or it was before he got a bit too old)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JMVGTmDn3Q
During the chorus at 1:25, i'd so much rather have that than the studio version.

Why bother putting in Why Bother? Sure, it's lyrically good, but it's awful from a musical standpoint, as is most of anything from Pinkerton.
