Castle Crashers storming PS3, playable at Comic-Con

The Behemoth's four-player, hack 'n slash Xbox Live Arcade title Castle Crashers has crashed right through the wall of platform exclusivity and is coming to PlayStation 3, the developer announced on the eve of San Diego Comic-Con. According to GameSpot, a playable version of the game for PS3 will be on the show floor tomorrow for attendees to gets their hands on.

Castle Crashers hit Xbox Live Arcade on August 27, 2008 and reached a milestone of 1 million players last month. The version for Sony's console has yet to be dated -- or detailed beyond the fact that it'll include Trophies -- but might we suggest dropping it on the one-year anniversary of the 360 version's launch? (With lots of new goodies, of course.)

Its a really fun game. Everyone should buy it. Hopefully for your sake it doesn't come riddled with online issues

i was thinking about getting this game for xbox but i'm not a gold member so i'll guess i'll have to wait for ps3 version. i know this is asking a bit too much but, here's to hoping castle crashers lbp costume and level packs.

I agree, this was the only XBLA game I was ever interested in beyond anything that PS3 didn't have an equal. (Geometry Wars vs. Stardust HD & Everyday Shooter, etc)

With Fat Princess and now Castle Crashers both coming soon to PSN, it'll be pretty damn cool. Now Sony just needs to drop the PS3 to $299 and it'll be the best console ever.

yea i bought this on XBLA and it was really a mistake since i don't have Gold (play my online games on PS3) and my real life friends don't really like this type of game. it's not really all that fun playing by myself. i doubt i'll buy it again on the PSN (unless i catch it on a sale or something) but it's great for everyone else who hasn't played it yet. great game as long as you have someone to play it with or online.

Well, I remember that there was long development times when some of the staff were making games on Newgrounds. It seemed that AH took forever for them to make. (Not the console versions, but the flash game that can be, or can't be found on newgrounds).

I figured that since they stepped their game up and got more staff to work with they would be more productive than they have been in the past. It's been forever since I've been keeping up with them, but they seem to have found a place for themselves in the wide world of video games finally. To me Behemoth (some staff) will always be those cool guys that made fun flash games on Newgrounds.

i have all three consoles with fair amount of games for each i also have both handhelds and enjoy them once in awhile.

Then why the hell do you care if this game is being released on PS3 if you can already have it on your 360?

Because once you buy it on the PS3, you will be able to play it online for free.

I'm getting it on the 360 because I actually have 4 controllers on the 360

Im getting it for my PS3 because I actually have 5 controllers for it plus my original Sixaxis (doesn't deserve to be included as a real controller).

Considering the Only games I have on 360 are Fable 2, Gears 2 and Castle Crashers, yea....its really no point...

It's available for $30 at various retailers pretty commonly.

Cheapest I have seen is like $35 at ToyrRus and that was months ago...havent seen it that cheap anywhere sense....and I've been checking CheapAssGamer for a while now....

at any rate like I said at the moment with the 3 games I have, I just dont see a reason to get Gold...

great news! I only have an xbox 360, but I think the more hands (virtually of course) this game is in the better, and the more money The Behemoth gets, the more certain I am that we'll get more great downloadable titles. By the way, I hope to get a PS3 soon, especially after playing some of the demos of exclusive games to that system

I'm not dead, sorry to disappoint. Just taking a class this summer, so by the time I get home to read the 'Stiq, everything's already flooded with comments. Castle Crashers will be a great addition to the PSN, sure but you already have tons of great things you can get there.

My favourites so far are Monsters, Eden and Flower.
