In celebration of the game's benchmark achievement, the game's developer, Media Molecule, has created the video you see above -- basically, a montage of various user-created levels, though we're more inclined to point you to LittleBigContra if you're really looking to be impressed. Furthermore, the post teases an August 18 reveal of "something interesting" from Media Molecule. Could it be more downloadable levels for the game? A new game entirely? A brand new car? We'll just have to wait until the 18th of August to see.

Yeah, because a 360 with wi-fi, a decent HDD, and free online is way cheaper than a PS3, right?

It's worth it. Save up. It's expensive, yes, but you don't need anything else beyond maybe an extra controller, and if you don't have a Blu-Ray player yet, all the more reason.

Nah, it's definitely worth taking the jump. I had similar misgivings, but even if you don't like the exclusives (which are of an incredibly high calibre and variety anyway), the media capabilities are so broad that there's always a use for it - showing photos on the TV, sofa internet, Blu-ray etc.
Especially if you're hunched in an uncomfortable chair at your PC like me, as it has a lot of the same stuff but with the benefit of being comfy!

It's a good game but not worth buying a system for, trust me.

I'm just glad my 20gb 360 is working fine for me. I have a network cable wired into my entertainment room for less lag, and I'll happily pay $30 a year for a better online experience. I don't mean to start anything, but the argument that you NEED a huge hard drive and wifi and all that other crap is getting old.

@Neuromancer
Take your NXE avatar and shove it up your ass. This game is the most fun you can have with your 3 of your friends. This game alone does justify buying a system like the PS3 but this isnt the only game worth look forward to. Uncharted 2, R&C. ACiT, MGS4, KZ2, InFamous and I can go on.

I actually do NEED the bigger hard drive. I've got 3 full games installed to my HD, about 10 demos, a few Disney movies for my daughter, a boatload of photos, about 20 different XMB themes, not to mention game saves and game data. 60 gigs gets eaten up in no time.
I suppose I could delete a set of photos whenever I add one, and do the same with movies, demos, etc, but...why? I think I'll just order a 500 gig laptop drive and slap that in there. That oughtta do nicely.

Dont worry its going to be 299 some day soon - and thats all-in, no extra costs for multiplayer or wifi. And when you do get one, make sure you try Uncharted, inFamous and Killzone 2 as well!

Too bad on 360 you don't getting anything as creative or cool as LBP just re-hashed Halo games and third party games like on every other system.

Wiizer, are you sure Blu-Ray actually helps in this game's case? No offense, Blu-Ray so far has been extremely underutilized in PS3 games, especially multi-platform titles. I wonder if/when PC games will use Blu-Ray...
Now if this was on the PC, we'd have a billion user-created levels. : D

Nerdy Desi,
I'm no dev, but I take my queues from the news. Here's the article:

It's so much fun to have a PC user comment around here, too! Hope you make a habit of it! ;D

"...if this was on the PC, we'd have a billion user-created levels."
And the final tally is...
Potential Level Count:
Xbox 360 - 5,000,000
PC - 1,000,000,000
PS3 - 1,000,000+
ACTUAL Level Count:
Xbox 360 - 0
PC - 0
PS3 - 1,000,000+

Offday, not to sound like an ass or anything but when I think of 360 I think of halo and commercialized marketing and not the great things 360 has (1 vs 100 is awesome, though ther ARE ads in it) when I think of PS3 though I think of very "artsy" quality games, not to say 360 doesn't have them, it just isn't as recognizable,
(I also think they mainly said that to counter his fanboyism)

It boggles my mind that a game about originality and being creative has so much content based off of other games. That's not what I signed up for.

It boggles my mind that someone can post a comment *this* stupid.
LBP has as many original levels as it has levels based on other games/films/tv shows.
And in the end that's not what really matters, what matters is that someone took the time to build a great level and that all the people who bought the game can experience it and HAVE FUN.

Yes, because out of those million plus levels, it's so hard to find original content.

Never said the game was bad or I couldn't find original content. I'm saying I don't like how people copy from established properties and act like they're being creative. Also , lets be honest the best levels are stolen ideas. @ Troy Powers, how many of those levels are any good? I'd say the majority are not.

It actually takes quite a bit of work to recreate other games when the mechanics of the two games are completely different. Not to mention that many games being recreated are 3D and are thus having to be adapted to a game that is largely 2D. In truth most of these levels are tributes rather than reproductions... meaning the content is largely original, but the theme of the level fits the game providing the inspiration. Sort of like fan fiction.

lol funny how I am more criticized more for the fact of my poor use of punctuation. Yeah I know its different Paul but that is the big thing everyone said this is the must have game for the PS3 and I didnt feel that way. The game just sucks in my opinion yeah it has gotten great reviews and awards but face facts the game just isnt selling the huge numbers and you fanboys and can give BS that "well over time it will blah blah blah" point is right now its not a huge hit they wanted.
