The problem with "hardcore" console gamers is that they're total hypocrites because the games they enjoy and controllers they use are like kids toys compared to PC games. I mean, I remember regulating power in a Mech or X-Wing or in Combat Flight Simulator plane like an engineer... "Hardcore" is definitely not how I would describe the Halos and CoD's of video game-land... all you do in those games is run around, press a button, die, respawn, and do it all over again. What's so "hardcore" about that?

I have this game and I have to say Swordfighting (by itself) is so amazing and one of the only leaps I've seen in intuitive gameplay this generation.

One of the best 2 player fighting games I've ever played.

Sorry. My mistake I forgot the kind of people I am talking to. I forgot that most gamers are either hard headed or so single minded that they cannot see another person's perspective. I loved Nintendo at one point too and tried my hardest to see the god points in the Wii. But I gave that up. Forget I said anything and continue.

Ironically, that is a hard headed response to something. So...you know.

Because you link it with the Mii Contest Channel and have the most the popular Miis spectate your matches.

I'll pick it up on Sunday. You know... just so I can actually use my Wii again. But Nintendo REALLY needs to stop making all these controller accessories. They should really start selling this stuff in discounted bundles. Or making a new Wiimote with motion+ built in.

I love doing most of what this game has to offer...in real life. In a video game I just feel gypped!

Also, if my dog could comprehend that I was playing Frisbee with a fake dog instead of him, he just might bite me in the face. Well deserved, really.

"I love doing most of what this game has to offer...in real life. In a video game I just feel gypped!"

If you expect the same kind of experience of what life has to offer in a video game: You're more than just 'gypped'.

The simplicity and easiness of these "not-as-great-as-real-life" games is what makes them great.
A man can complain about how kids should play real instruments rather than play Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but that's not the point. A man can complain about how kids should learn how to REALLY dance rather than play DDR, but that's not the point.

A man is justified to complain those ideas when the child is PROUD and feels IMPORTANT for being great in those games and claim it like an actual achievement in their life.
However: If the child is just playing those games to have fun - the complaining man is an asshole and needs to chill.

No one brags about being great in Wii Sports. They just do simple trash talking.

In that case: Reality vs Video Games isn't a justified argument for this type of game.

It's like "How about instead of playing Halo, you just join the army? You get to shoot lots of aliens there!"

...not the same thing.

"Also, if my dog could comprehend that I was playing Frisbee with a fake dog instead of him, he just might bite me in the face. "

1) The point of the game isn't the dog. The dog's there so that the frisbee has something to land on. It gives it a purpose other than "aim for the colored marker". And Nintendo just thought the dogs were cute. Nothing wrong with that.

2) If you gotta' complain about pet games, complain about the eyePet. If you have a real pet already, and you neglect that pet in order to feed and play with your virtual pet: Then you really should be ashamed of yourself.
Playing with a virtual dog to rack up points in accuracy against other friends DOES NOT equal spending time away from your real dog to play frisbee with a virtual dog.

I love stealing cars and shooting people...in real life. In GTA I just feel gypped!

Comparing a game to reality is stupid. I thought that everyone understood this already.

Wii Sports Resort is good fun, and much better than the original Wii Sports, but it's still got that same "tech demo-y" feel (as opposed to "genuine, complete game-y" feel) that Wii Sports has.

I would've rather had half the sports taken twice as far.

Or, barring that, gimme some downloadable content within the next 6 months, featuring expanded forms of the better games in WSR: swordplay, archery, frisbee, basketball (I actually really dig it, although I'd read some not-so-good things about it) . . . um . . . table tennis? Kinda hard to expand on that. Anyway, you get my point.

But, sadly, they won't do that, either.

For example, I would pay the price of a full, new game for, say, 50 new levels to the "tilt the balls into the holes" minigame in "Wii Fit". And I'm sure I'm not the only one. That was good fun.

I'm just disappointed that the potential of these (sometimes) great "tech demos" go more or less un-tapped.

My parents brought me this game yesterday although i had never heard of this game until then. I didnt really like the original sport game that came with the wii it didnt have anything to unlock and it was the same things over and really bored me but the wii resorts has lots of different games and things to unlock. Theres nothing really bad to say about it except golf, bowling, frisbee and airflying is jus PLAIN BORING!!!! And i didnt know that every remote control needed to have a motion plus in order to play anygame on the disc. And sometimes the remote will mess up during game play and will stop the entire game jus to rebalance the remote and Im not sure if it its jus my console but sometimes the game will make my 1st player remote not work and only 1st player can unpause and press start so i would have to use my finger and turn off the console. But other than that i LOVe this game!!! Wii resorts is challenging some r easy and others like the arrow shooting, canoeing and speedwater ( im not reall sure what the real names r i've only had it for a day!) and someother ones r really hard and take ALOT of practicing.. before u actually start the race ur batteries r dead lol :). everyone should buy it!
