Band Hero DS attachments revealed, gameplay details
66
If you and your bandmates are ready to take your five-star show on the road, get ready to grab your DS Lites and crank the speakers up to elev ... well, push the little volume switch all the way to the right. Activision's Band Hero is coming to the DS, and includes four-player ad-hoc for full-band rocking. Players can use the On Tour guitar attachment, drop some vocals on the system's built-in mic, or use the drum skin attachment pictured above to supply the percussional accompanyment.
There's just one minor caveat -- if you've already upgraded to the DSi, then you're S.O.L. Not only will the guitar attachments not be able to plug into the GBA cartridge port that the system doesn't have, the drum skin won't fit on the handheld's svelte frame. Sorry, early adopters!

Too bad there was not some sort of touch area on a DS. You know, some sort of button that could be pressed, or even if that lower screen could be used as a touch area.
Maybe Nintendo will fix that with the next release.

That would be cool. We should go pitch that idea to Nintendo, and then we could tell Activision so they have a head start on developing for the hardware...

There's no multitouch on DS so it pretty much makes any simulation of guitar or drumming on the screen useless. you need a controller.

Nintendo never intended for its users to use the touchscreen.

Isn't Neversoft the company that does (or used to do?) the Tony Hawks game? Activision is the one who develops this.

Yes, and Neversoft used to do the Tony Hawk series, and since GH:WT (or maybe GH3, I'm not sure), they've been working on GH. Activision publishes the things, I'm not sure how much involvement they have in developing them, other than requiring they be developed on a regular basis.

Like many said, it's too bad for us DSi owners. Wish they would have gone the route of Taiko Drum Master on DS. But like many also said, it's activision, gotta have them peripherals!

The fuck is this crap??? I got the DSi and I want a music game! You know what fuck this game, it probably will suck anyways considering that it has hardly any rock and mostly rap and pop. That is the reason everyone stopped playing DDR and moved on to GH in the first place!!!

I'm not going to lie, that looks a lot less retarded than a DS drum attachment has any right looking.

I have no interest, but the peripheral itself looks pretty good.
As for the lack of DSi support, I couldn't care less if the DSi and PSP Go were thrown into a ditch and buried. Both are pretty pathetic compared to their predecessors.

I have no real interest in having any Activision game in my collection and that includes anything from Blizzard.
