Put your rivalry to the side for a moment and join hands. Acknowledge that together, we, as XBLA and PSN users, have reached a tremendous milestone: 600,000. That number represents the to-date total of $15 transactions between us and our respective online services to purchase Battlefield 1943; and we did so, overwhelmingly -- and in record-setting fashion -- on the first day and week of the game's download-only release.
In just fifteen short days, we have sent a message to Microsoft, Sony and third-party publishers. We're willing to pay a bit more and spend it on a slice of good old-fashioned stuff we still get on our retail discs (even if it's a little rough during takeoff). Sorry, indies -- go put it on the App Store.

Yes its fun. Yeah its kinda buggy. But it needs more maps. They aren't going to add anything to it which sucks, but it needs more. It is almost like a demo that you pay for in order to get unlimited play time.

I would only pay that much for quality games. Like shadow Complex, I would pay 20 bucks but only because its not like every other game that is worth 5-10 dollars.

I've never played a Battlefield game before, so I tried the trial with hesitation. Hell, I don't even like FPS games on console.
I was instantly hooked. The game just feels so epic while you're playing it. You're firing rockets at a tank while a friendly plane flies 20 feet overhead, bombs it, clips a tree, and crashes into an enemy jeep which gets blown to smithereens. You jump over the corpses to cap the point, then BLAM, get sniped.
Good times.

I downloaded the demo the other day to give it a try. After playing it for a while Im really confused as to why people seem excited over this. Is it the price point? Was there something I missed, some fun twist I must have overloooked? This just seems like a poor version of whats already on the two consoles.

I'm glad that I spent the $15 on that game. I have so much fun when I play it, but I just wish they'd release more maps and more achievements. Is there a chance of that happening?

We want more please . North African Maps from 1942 with the UK , Aussies , Anzacs versus Italians and Germans . I really wanted the game to be successful as I read Gordon Van D y k e say that depending on the success there could possibly be another re-iteration of 1942 so please lets have a North African campaign with Gazala , El Alamein , Tobruk and Operation Battleaxe maps . Then we could finally have the Germans v USSR with Stalingrad , Berlin , Kursk etc .
Why not to hell with it and re-release the whole bleedin game I would pay full price right now for a 1942 remake .

I have definitely gotten my $15 worth time-wise, but there are tons of things that could be improved. It should better balance teams, let me search for specific maps to play, not make me wait for the new game to load so I can quit the server, and of course add a few more maps in the future.
The rockets/bombs are very frustrating...I can blow up a tank with a bazooka or bombs, but if they hit close to an enemy they do no damage? Guns on the tanks take several hits to kill someone? Dumb.
Not to mention how many teammates are completely idiotic and the lack of people using mics.

I played the demo. It felt like I was playing a video game and that we should all be playing the FPSs we already have.

I actually started playing Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast again.
Visceral.
I'll get Unleashed when it hits $20 (so close on Amazon).
But to the topic at hand, I really do enjoy 1943. Takes me back to my first romps with 1942.
And I just love this line "Sorry, indies -- go put it on the App Store."

personally, I would like to have my money back. I played teh demo and was like AW SWEET THIS GAME IS FUN...so I bought it. and guess what? the full version SUCKS. its got good graphics and all, and killing stuff is kinda fun. but, there is no real reason for us to continue playing it after you have tried all the maps. there are no rewards for leveling up, you don't unlock anything cool to make you want to play the game some more.
add some extra weapons for each class that become availbile as you level up (call of duty did this really well) new classes would be cool too as you level up in a class you get to choose a specialization (IE the infantry can be machine gunnery, heavy weapons, greander, pistoler the scout could use throwing knives camouflage etc...) thats what I want in a $15 game.

$15 is a steal for this game. It's really fun with friends. But the mic support sucks ass.

I would love to see more of the old shooters I use to play ported onto the 360. I hope Call of Duty and 1943 are the forerunners for a myriad of games to come. O hope we see further Battlefield games (like the PC version of BF2 or Vietnam) and maybe even some of the old Medal of Honer games (Allied Assault FTW!) to be ported onto the 360.
