Above, Uncharted 2's "Gold Rush" co-op mode is revealed. Watch as Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer narrates the action -- and his own grisly demise -- from the Comic-Con show floor. Additionally, we've contacted Arne to verify whether or not Gold Rush will make it into the upcoming multiplayer demo. We'll let you know just as soon as he respawns.
Comic-Con 2009: Thar's 'Gold Rush' in that thar Uncharted 2 video

Much to our relief, the great Gold Rush of Aught-Nine will not be spent sifting through a day's worth of meager mine pickings and cursing the celebratory eruptions echoing from upstream. (Darned Jarvis, ye lucky ol' snaggletooth.) No, we'll be hiking up our trousers for a much more rousing mission, hauling tail from a hail of bullets as we simultaneously pillage the old world of yummy treasure with our friends. Oh, and murder lots of pirates Serbian militia dudes ... with our friends.

That looks like so much fun! I'm stoked for this game.
That CQC looked a little awkward though...

OMG I can't wait for U2!! Yeah the CQC looked a little off because he missed but normally it looks fine. The great thing about Uncharted is how awesome the gameplay is(basing off beta).. that with the awesome graphics and how cool you look when you play it will probably make this my GOTY.

that looks like my tv. i remember the first time i was in beta, the treasure spawned in the hole of the middle building an i was the first to figure out you had to toss it up, then climb out the hole. i dropped a grenade on the guy just running into the wall with the treasure

Scar95: I'm guessing that Uncharted would suffer the same problem that Killzone 2 had while considering split screen multiplayer: the graphic quality would have to decline considerably in order to accommodate the two players on split screen. Uncharted wouldn't look nearly as cool as it does. I'm not a online multiplayer nut by any means (I do play occasionally), but if the only way to have multiplayer with the awesome graphics of Naughty Dog is online, I'll seriously take it. Besides, Uncharted is not a "party" like Buzz or Singstar. 98% of players will play it solo or online.

I never thought of it like that ...its still a bummer though, in my area internet conections arent that great, i tried the beta and only got in 1 match for longer than 5 minutes without getting booted out, i almost never play online because it's more frusturating than fun ...

You can bet the single player is as good as Drake's Fortune. Naughty Dog nearly double the team's size so they would have the same resources just for the single player campaign as they did in the first game. The multiplayer was handled by a separate team.

"The single-player in Uncharted 2 is longer than Uncharted 1"
Is this confirmed?

Awesome Single Player and awesome story (soon to be anyway)....Multiplayer Competitive with 2 modes (and maybe some more) and good amount of maps to come with it.....Co Op story mode with the story structured properly around the other players with Drake...And now a mode where we have multiple players against bots...Sort of like the horde mode in GOW2.
I feel this is going to have alot over the FPS, COD: MW2....Uncharted 2 is definitely GOTY.

Graphics look a little better. Otherwise, it's tough to get too excited. I'm more interested in the 1P then the multiplayer.

longer gameplay, better graphics, varied gameplay....those all mean nothing if the final package doesn't work as a whole.
I just think it's a bit crappy that they made their money with a great sp adventure and instead of taking that money and adding to that, they take that money and throw on a multi player game. I played the beta it was ok, but consider how over saturated the online shooter market is with great games. and now consider how many games we get that actually have a good single player story and campaign. there is maybe one really great title a year and a couple good ones.
I'm jsut saying it would've been nice to see another game break the mold

Didn't someone explain this to you in the last post.
Here...This is from the live chat with naughty dog on the playstation blog. AmyH: Actually, developing the multiplayer experience has enabled us to improve and enhance the single player experience, because it's allowed us to really tune all the play mechanics and get a lot of great feedback along the way.
We made sure when we set out to create the multiplayer component of the game, that it wouldn't impact the single player experience negatively in any way. We expanded the team to accommodate the additional development, and assigned people to focus exclusively on multiplayer or single-player. That way both experiences are equally well-developed.
