Considering that '07 came with over 20 courses, and '10 shipped with (I believe) 15 or 16, paying $7.50 per additional course is a but much. At this price point, it would almost double the price of the game to get an equal number of courses to just 3 years ago.

Also, charging $7.50 for Predator is non-sense. It's a fantasy (ie: made-up course) and therefore, there aren't any licensing fees. This course should cost less than Spyglass.

You're making the case that $7.50 is too much because they've decreased the number of on-disc courses over the years, but that isn't (exactly) true. '07 on Xbox 360 did not come with 20 courses, it came with 12. (The PS2 version had 20, but that's an apples and oranges comparison for obvious reasons - filesizes, quality, etc.)

That said, $7.50 is too much. But not because the number of courses on-disc has decreased. ;)

I bought Predator. I hated paying $7.50 for it, but I wanted to play it again that badly. Banff Springs, though? Not so much. At least it's much less of a rip than paying $7.50 for Spyglass, a course that was on-disc just two years ago in Tiger '08. I'd rather get Tiger '08 off eBay for $10 than pay $7.50 for just one course from it.

Mike,

Thanks, you are correct in thinking I was refering to the PS2 version (I had not upgraded systems at that time). I wasn't aware that the 360 version only had 12 courses.

Isn't this on the Wii already? Kinda sucks that they are going to charge for a course already included in the "inferior" version... especially for close to $8.

So I checked it out and yes it is... I thought I had played there already too :P

Yes... I own the Wii version (disc golf FTW!).

But no Spyglass... oh well. Still leaves me 26 other options :)

I think the add-on courses should be no more than $5.00 dollars or make it a pack of three courses for $10.00 dollars!

I will only be picking up extra courses when they are on a deep discount.

Has anyone released any data on how well DLC is doing at various price points? Are there stats on what people think is a ripoff, and can do without, and what people think is a ripoff, but still have to have, or what people think is a good price? I wonder if they'll ever sort out the pricing, or if it'll always be whatever each company wants to charge?

Tiger woods 2010 is the best one they have made so far IMO.
I also think it looks and plays a little bit better on the 360. I know for a fact that the galleries are bigger on the 360. I had it for the ps3 but I swapped it out for the 360 version because the ps3 version had some frame rate issues at times.

I don't see myself getting a course for $7.50 at the drop of a hat. $5 is more reasonable as an impulse buy, which is the only reason I got '09's Spyglass Hill during one of the Deal of the Week sales.

Of course, I'm still happily playing '09 so I'm hardly an example of a virtual golfer who needs the latest and greatest anyway.

EA does it again. Microtransactioning their customers to death. Thanks EA.

This franchise is so tired. Each year, they just add a few little features and sell essentially the same game for 60$

Ball goes into a trap, it's always in the bottom of the trap, regardless of where it actually ended up. Near the water? You might be 30 yards back. Out of bounds on every hole if you go too far left or right.. It's not staked off.

Plus, didn't they have DLC like a week after it came out? Bunch of dicks.

banff is totally not worth it its boring and there's nothing that makes it stand out at all, predator is at least something new, banff is just a waste of money with boring wide fairways and boring flat greens

Honestly, this is such a turd of a move, with all of these courses being DLC.

This is the only reason I still play my Gamecube, because I have a smorgasbord of courses from Tiger Woods 1832 that's darn-near as fun as the last 5 years or more... And I RARELY play any other old games!

If I could get 18-20 courses in HD with the same fun as my old one, I'd get it, but 12?!? Screw that.

Normally, I would not buy a single course for $8. However, I had this course with the old computer game Links386. I played this course at least 100 times (including those world wide tournaments). Then in 1993 my wife and I took a trip to Banff and I played the 27 hole course three times. Funny, I knew the course like I had been playing it my entire life. The real course is broken into three sets of nine holes. I wonder which set of nine they are leaving out?
If EA wants to make this course feel like the real one, then instead of people on the side of the fairways, there should be elk.

Although I am not a golf aficionado, I am a Banff fan. Banff is very nice, but i would rather go there than play it in a golf video game. It's only 3 hours from where i live.
