Definitely interesting to say the least. The animation style seems to remind me of Gundam WIng for some reason.

They should have spent the money hiring Pixar.

Anime Schmanime - bring back the good old days of Hanna Barbera!

Better yet, bring back '90's Hanna Barbera, the studio that gave the world SWAT Kats, Pirates of the Dark Water, the first three of the newer Scooby Doo movies (Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, and that one about aliens), and the later three (and significantly better) seasons of Captain Planet

To be completely honest about this i think this is going to make one of the best gaming franchises look like crap. The style just looks retarded and weird.

I'm in love. Can't wait! (God, I am such a fucking Halo fanboy! The music in the trailer alone was enough to get me excited.)

^^^^^^^Agreed 100%
It's iconic, epic. It just defines the series so well.
Imagine the Halo Movie...the soundtrack will be wicked!

Well, being a huge halofanboy and not exactly being the most knowledgeable on anime I think i may have to
A) watch some to see what its about
B) go into this whole thing with a fairly open mind to enjoy my halo :)
SO... anyone have any suggestions on a good anime series to get warmed up on this type of style?

Watch "Darker Than Black". It was very solid and was a self contained one season of episodes so you don't have to watch 70 crappy filler episodes.
Combine that with Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist and you will definitely become a fan of Bones as a studio.

Wow, no, do not watch Darker than Black.
Watch FullMetal Alchemist and Eureka Seven, both by Bones, and then you'll be better off.
Elfen Lied if you like violence :)

The Toei part of the trailer definitely looks like the weakest link. I really could have done without their segment. At least it won't have pacing issues like Naruto or DBZ...

uh, I think Halo got Platinum hits in Japan. See for yourself. Maybe MS is trying to bring anime fanbase in US and convert anime haters to anime fan (even though, this is going to have some anime haters hating Halo, or video game and maybe end up allying with Jack Thompson).

I couldn't find Halo 2 Japanese's Platinum Collection for that one.

There is more than one spartan in the Halo uiverse and one female was a playable character on Tecmo's DOA.
