It's already time for another Yakuza

Yakuza 3 (Ryu ga Gotoku 3 in Japan) just came out in February, and Sega has already officially announced the sequel. The official Ryu ga Gotoku site revealed that a new PlayStation 3 installment is on the way. Other than the platform and the title, Ryu ga Gotoku 4: Densetsu wo Tsugu Mono (Succeed the Legend), few details are known. We can speculate that since the series is already two deep on the PS3 and we haven't seen either of those in North America, this one is also going to remain in Japan. How does Sega have time to make all these huge games so quickly anyway?

If you'd like to see what some of the characters will look like in the new open-world title, GAME Watch (via Kotaku) has images of actors Hiroki Narimiya and Kenta Kiritani recording voice work and sitting for motion capture. Detailed 3D models of the actors will appear in the game.

i bought yakuza 3 both parts off ebay and they are awesome even though they are in japanese.

Who knows...could be good. Wasn't Persona 4 announced a year after Persona 3? That was a good game.

It's kinda funny that yesterday Microsoft was accused of milking it's IP, and yet the Yakuza series now has more games to it's name than Halo....all in just 3 years! Now that's how you milk a series.

You should really make an FAQ on how to get down voted!

1. Start off with a backhanded compliment.

2. Mention the competition's name in the post that has nothing to do with it.

3. Accuse the game in the subject of 'milking it' when you know all of its fans will be reading this.

4. ..................... PROFIT?

If milking is making you money, why not Naeem? Unless you can go show them something else.

Oh I have nothing against putting out games for a good series. Hell I'll buy Castlevania games till the day I die. I just find it laughable that yesterday there were a lot of comments about Halo being a dead horse.

5. Try to dig yourself out of the hole you've created by blaming another incident irrelevant to this one...

Also, how is my comment irrelevant? This is the 4th Yakuza game in a short 3 years. I'm about to sound like a broken record but, I just thought it was funny that another series was...*sigh* forget it.

What's the difference from a main game and a spinoff?? they still have the same name.

Please make it less repetitive this time, that was my main concern with the last Yakuza, fighting got less tactical and more button mash, at least give it some of the ol' Virtua Fighter chemical.

Otherwise loved this game.

F*ck Yakuza 4, give us Yakuza 3 in English first you lazy bastards. Hopefully it doesn't take 2 years just to translate the subtitle like Yakuza 2 did.

The games sega put out on the PS3 exclusively are games that are really only popular in japan, the PS3 is much, much more popular in japan over the xbox, hence the reason sega developed those games only on the PS3.

It wouldn't make sense for Sega to make them on the xbox when it has only just hit 1 million over in japan even after the mass amount of exclusive (timed or not) released for it over there.

Jeez ronnie, how are you tired of japanese technology??there all the same. plus sega is only good at making ps3 games now adays. just look at valkyria chronicles and yakuza.

The game is mainly targeted for Japanese users.
Thats why its important to develop and release it on a HD game console which is has the most install base in Japan. And that is PS3.
If the target were users in the U.S, I think their priority would have been XBox360 though.

They haven't said anything about it so far.. But it seems unlikely, especially with this one now announced.

If Halo only has 3 main games, then Yakuza only has 3 main games! The only Yakuza titles that are main games are 1, 2, and 3! The fourth one hasn't been released and probably won't be until 2010 so you have no argument!

This is good news that they are making a 3rd sequel to the Yakuza series but...it's kinda useless for me and for the people who don't understand Japanese...

Sega, I got Valkyria Chronicles, Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection, Rally Revo and even your crappy released Sonic games - Sonic the Hedgehog (2006) and Sonic Unleashed. I WILL get your awesome Yakuza if you just release it here in the States. Pleaasseeeee? T~T
