Going by that screenshot, this really looks like a porno

I read that one of their inspirations for the game was George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice novels which include graphic scenes of violence, rape, and incest. Why should Bioware shy away from these issues just because it's a videogame?

Most of the people saying "Man, this is so immature and pointless having this in a game" will probably pop a chub the instant the next GTA game is announced.

I'm not really trying to be a grammar nazi, just think it's kind of funny when people are ripping on others, only to say something silly themselves.

All joking aside, I'm just tired of the hypocritically puritanical nature of our culture, and the fact that there seems to be no progressive advancement in how sex is treated. It's ok to have massive amounts of violence, and yet, the moment a tit shows up on-screen on a video game, parents and whatnot get their panties into a bunch and the fire and brimstone members of congress come out of the woodwork. The same people who are responsible for the excessive glut of awful PG-13 movies in the theaters.

The Europeans don't do this and you don't see their underage birth rates skyrocketing out of control.

Anyhow, bottom line is that is just odd that there's a double-standard between video games and films when there really shouldn't be one. And just in general, maybe b/c I'm not a parent, I don't understand the usefulness of trying to demonize and be repressive about how sex is portrayed in the media. It's as with alcohol...trying to keep the legal age at 21 somehow makes it counterproductive, 18 yr olds seem even that much more determined to abuse it instead of consuming it in normal amounts if 18 was the limit instead.

Is sex so taboo that every tiny hint of it in games deserve to be news?

NO NUDITY!??! And they expect me to fork over my hard-earned cash!?!

Okay, maybe if it's a really good game... but nudity would still make it a better game. Naked Twister is a great example of a not-particularly-interesting game made oodles more exciting by the subtraction of clothing. Hopefully co-ed, at least for me.

Stories will always be about little kids playing against big evils guys and having love story from cutie high school

And gamers always will be infantile sentimentalist playing game with zero emotions, zero grown-up feelings.

In a mature story, people should have sex, should have bitter relations, should have problems to concile family and huge fantasy crisis, and yes, it should be graphic !

My gosh, in xenogears , an old playstation japanese rpg game, there were a sex scene towards the end of the game, it was used to ciment the relation of the two main protagonist and to emphasize the upcoming crisis in the story (one of them will sacrifice itself).
it was with tiny pixels in ridiculous colors, nothing where shown but it was explicit and it served the story ! Sex is not BAD in a story or a grown up game.



and I don't care if in a fantasy rpg, sex is only for sexual stimulation or whatever, I'm sick of kiddie game with kiddie carebears feeling. You can play Sonic for life if you want !


It's pathetic to see un-sexual stories or boob-panic in so called "mature game... what the fuss ? even without sex, theses games (for example gears of wars, inferno, fallout.. ) are already NOT for children. They are great game but already NOT for children ! so what is the point to insult grown up ?
So, they could show sex in mature-rated game... it would be more sane than gratuitous horrible violence sometimes... (my god, the main character loving someone and not killing ? ouch... no! gamers prefer to see huge stack of blood and organs.. )

I'm not against violence (or sex) or fun, no. it depends of the story, of the game, of the goal, of the talents of the artists, and whatever. A video game can be many thing. But you have to realize one thing :

Gamers, you are not mature and the industry is telling you that. You prefer to see so called heros walking in corpse, blood up to their nose than caring for others.

Think you meant 'revoked'. The death of the sub-editor is a sad thing...
