...but that's more than the actual game costs

... and?

$10 for a game soundtrack is cheap, even from the cheap DD games. Especially since you can take this version with you everywhere.

Been willing to buy it but didn't find throught bandcamp if there's some kind of DRM.
Last time i bought music online, there where no mention of drm on the site but in the end i were spoiled (so much restriction for something you paid, what a shame)

They should follow Pixeljunk's pricing philosophy with music.

Sidhe's last several games performed rather poorly and, unlike Pixeljunk, these fellas aren't backed by Sony. In other words, if there's potential for another revenue stream, they'd probably take it.

OR in the much more likely scenario, considering the album carries Module's namesake rather than Sidhe, the contract for the music was drafted with the understanding that the artist who created the album has the rights to sell the album seperately. A very not uncommon contract among the indie game circuit.

Of course it all boils down to this questionable sense of entitlement gamers have been fostering for a while. You don't have a RIGHT to this music soundtrack. And if the price is too high for you, you're not forced to buy it either.

golobulus,

I'll try to use small words considering you're one of the obviously ignorant bastards who still seems to think "sheppy = sheep.. har har, I r teh clever." So allow me to point this out.

I'm not "bending over for anything." My CHOICE to buy or not buy the soundtrack is just that, a choice. I lead by a sense of not being a self-entitled prick. Basically it's like this.

When I bought the movie Mortal Kombat on DVD, it was $7. Because I bought the movie, this didn't mean I could walk into Best Buy and walk out with the soundtrack because I bought the movie. I would have to PAY for the soundtrack, correct?

When I bought the game, FFXII, Play-Asia didn't send me a free copy of that soundtrack because owning the game gave me that right. Same with most other game soundtracks I own. Same thing with anime and music scores I own. Buying the original source doesn't mean I get everything else for free.

But here is the novel idea. If $10 is too much for you on this, DON'T BUY IT. Price complaints doesn't mean you have a right to download it. It just means you have the right to flip them the proverbial bird and just not buy it.

And put it another way, companies have every right to charge for content they created. Every right. Believing in this doesn't mean you're a sheep. But what it DOES mean is you willingly acknowledge the idea that real work goes into this stuff. You'll understand once you get out of middle school.

You know what...

Originally, I was planning on avoiding this game... I'm kinda tired of the breakout clone formula... but, having heard the soundtrack, I think I'm gonna buy it now.

You won't regret it. The game isn't your standard Breakout clone at all.
