Steam weekend sale: Velvet Assassin, X3: Terran Conflict, Men of War
16
If our inability to finish Velvet Assassin hasn't diminished your interest in the game, know that Steam is slashing 50% off its price this weekend. Joining the stealth title in this weekend's sale is Egosoft's X3: Terran Conflict, which has also been discounted by 50%, and Aspyr's Men of War, which has been discounted by a huge 75%. Of course, none of this probably matters to most Steam users, as they're most likely enjoying a romp through Monkey Island right about now.

If you played and loved the original, you won't be disappointed. I've been playing it and am having a blast. They did a really great job on this, especially the voices. I hope they give the same treatment to Monkey Island 2 LeChuck's Revenge.

Buy Men of War. It's totally worth the $7.50.

Just read the velvet review, and it seemed like the reviewer simply doesnt like stealth games - his main gripe was "You sneak up behind dudes, you off them, you repeat. There's little variety level-to-level and even less room for improvisation." - how many shooters you know of that are any different (except replace the "sneak" with "shoot")? Frankly, makes me worry about the future for games that dont involve merely blowing things up
Though agree with the point about checkpoints, wonder why we dont have save-anywhere games on consoles now like we always had on PC, checkpoints were needed on consoles till the last gen because of the limitations on memory cards but not any more, as all PS3s and most 360s hve a hard drive

you are right man, personally i really enjoyed velvet assasin, and i think joystiq was completely unfair with this one, i mean if sneaking against guys is no fun then guess what? splinter cell is exactly that, and even worst as 98% of the game has to be seen in a beautiful green color as everything is nothing but dark, double agent changed that a little bit but at the end that´s what stealth is all about. So to be fair velvet is not a bad game, it could have been better but is NOT what joystiq said, i´m sure if velvet would have been half naked and shooting bullets like crazy then everybody would have loved it.

I'll never use D2D every again. DRM ridden shit. You can only activate the games so many times then you have to email support to get a activation key. Then after a while your catalog of games you had bought disappears.

How good of a service is gogamer? I've never used it, but I don't think I can pass up $5.90 Mirrors Edge and Prince of Persia...that's like the price of a rental!

@Sidebuster I have well over 50 games bought from D2D. No problems here. They've never removed any of my games.
