Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is really into cosplaying

Our traditionally no-nonsense logo just couldn't help itself when it learned that the San Diego Comic Con is currently playing host to half the nation's population of "indoor kids." It was planning on saving its Naruto costume for Halloween, but decided the occasion merited an early reveal. Isn't it adorable?

If you're going to send out your kid dressed in a Naruto costume to Comic-Con, who is the real nerd here?

I immediately wondered how fast someone would have pointed it out. But those recent Halo Legends threads have indicated that we have quite a few anime afficionados hereabouts.

Ah, and the geektest backfires on the proctor. To have known enough about Naruto to turn it upside down in the first place to make the test, the test maker has outed himself as a geek as well.

anyway, the Turtles Through Time one was sadly true.

Escalation freaked me out. And that is why I'll never play fighting games competitively.

Thats exactly what happened to me with street fighter 4.. I have blazblue on my list to buy, so I guess I didn't learn :D

It's a joke on the new Halo Anime... He returned from an "Eastern Envoy"...

He comes back, and says "My Liege" in Japanese (at least, that's what i think Rieeju comes out to be, at least rendered in Katakana)

So, I had an idea. I'm out here looking for some psycho with Scott and Steve, right? And I'm realizing, who the hell are Scott and Steve?

Castle Vidcons did it for me. I was already laughing when I saw the 2nd to last panel, but then I noticed the change in the last one and just completely lost it.

Of Noobs and Men and 2P Start also got a laugh out of me.

Replace that with Tekken just after release and you've got our humble little competitive-at-everything-from-Bejeweled-to-freaking-Wii-Fit family.

My theory is that the explosion doesn't change a thing. And that Jacob and Smokey are two gods/aliens.

What are yours?

Jacob n F-Locke(whoever the hell he is) are banished god's of sort. and "they are coming" is the other gods. Which potentially could be the O6. The Island is almost a kinda Mt. Olympus of sorts.
Smoke monster is Cerberus (it call it that on the blast door map) but also potentially Osiris (Egyptian dude who weighed the hearts of men, ie Ben with Alex n Eko with his brother)

Can't both Ice Climbers grab the same ledge at the same time? I haven't played as them in a long while. I don't remember.

Not sure. There are a few functions of the Ice Climbers that i never quite resolved. Generally the way that Belay works, though, what happened in the strip wouldn't be a problem, since Nana only goes a little bit up.

What i would like to know is whether, in stamina mode, Nana has her own set of HP. I've seen it before that she does *not* die when he does, but i've never seen her die before him, either. I'd also like to know whether or not, when she picks up coins, they count towards the player or not.

There's a mission in Melee where the goal is to kill two Nanas without killing the Popos they're with. :P

No, i meant specifically in stamina mode. I know Nana can die first otherwise, i've just never seen it happen in stamina

Only if "the girl" (Nana) is the player-controller Ice Climber. By default, the one one being controlled by the player is Popo and the player-controlled one can stay alive alone but the CPU-controlled one can't.

2P Start, with Awkward Zombie and PA also in contention. Digital Unrest doesn't seem to take the forthcoming awesomeness of TMNT: Smash Up into account...

Trust me, I'm really hoping I have to revise this strip to include a massive ramp jump at the end upon the release of the Turtles In Time remake.

2P Start for me with Virtual Shackles coming in second. I think in 2P Start though that he should've stuck with his 'WUHU' alternate panel.

I like Digital Unrest usually even if it's not funny because the author always adds some relevant commentary to what his strip is about.

I laughed harder than I have in recent weeks at the DU Turtles Through Time strip. That last panel was just so perfect.

The 2P Start one had me confused before I got to the "LOST" panel as I thought the other skydivers were Power Rangers with all their different colored suits.

It may have made it too obvious, but that was for the benefit of those (like me), who don't care enough about Lost to immediately recognize the cast once set in Mii form.

The Ice Climbers comic was the best, but the Castle Vidcons comic made me smile. In all, aside from Penny Arcade, it was an unusually strong week.

Lost reference gets the win every time

the art in 2P Star has always bothered me. it's so damn shiny and slick but hella ugly.
