A Belgian website, consoleshop.be, is currently listing prepaid PSN cards in both €20 and €50 denominations. As Edge points out, the release date is pinned as October 1st, the same day that the UMD-free PSP Go handheld launches. SCEE hasn't officially announced plans to sell pre-paid PSN cards in Europe, but it seems like a no-brainer with the expansion of PlayStation Network content on both the PS3 and PSP. Offering PSN cards will not only make it possible for consumers without credit cards to enjoy digital games, retailers can also benefit by earning some money in the PSN-exclusive transaction (assuming they sell the cards at a profit, of course!).
Hopefully, it won't be long until SCEE does the right thing and makes it official.

I wish I could order Belgian Beer off of PSN and have it delivered to my house. Sony, get that sorted.

I think this article is wrong, I read on Kotaku a few days ago that retailers don't make any profit on PSN cards.

i can think of one reason sony might be dragging their feet on deploying the PSN cards wide-scale.
if you put $50 directly into your wallet on PSN, then sony gets all that money, basically (leaving aside the distribution of funds depending on your purchases).
but if you buy a $50 PSN card at retail, i'm sure retail paid less than that, which means sony gets less directly, not to mention distribution costs, etc.
from a company perspective, the cards are inferior to direct online transcations.
that said, the cards give consumers more choice, which will likely lead to increased sales, so it seems like that would win out in the end.
just my thoughts on why it's been like pulling teeth to get PSN cards available everywhere...

I don't see the point of PSN cards to be honest,
I've had a credit card since I was 14..
Plus It you don't have a CC, Use your mommy and daddy's CC..
It's easier.

Here's an example:
I live in Europe but the LBP copy I bought was from the US. Since I didn't have an US credit card, I simply bought PSN cards to be able to buy DLC for the game. They are -extremely- useful.
And here's another example:
Gifts! They're basically the same as those book cards (do these exist? I don't know how they're called in English). You know, those pieces of paper you buy at book stores that are worth $X and that you can later spend there?
Well, now you can do the same with PSN games, it's great!

What if your parents don't have a credit card and don't plan on getting one. I plan on getting a PSP Go (my first PSP) and that would be useless for me without PSN cards to purchase content. The small design and internal memory is the reason that I am so excited for the PSP Go, so a PSP 3000 would not be good for me.
