Yeah, the slow engine, poor animation transitions, poor collision detection, and retardo ball physics are once again covered up by jump-cuts and flashes on the screen.

Thanks for another round of SHIT, EA.

I'd rather wait to 2K10 so i can play a Timmy-Tony Parker pick-n-roll on the Odom-less Lakers @ Staples.

Go revamped Spurs!

instead of lamar, you'll end up with artest ripping someone's head off. and the Lakers still might sign the guy.

I'll concede that if the Lakers sign Odom, they have the best chance in the West to get to the Finals.... but, without him? 2nd round and that is it. The Spurs are to loaded to lose to an Odom-less Lakers.

All-Star starting line-up, deep bench, young blood, excellent coach and championship experience equal championship run.

So instead of the obvious explanation that the video is using current rosters and projecting a future matchup (like every year) you come up with time traveling Shaq? I guess you just missed the two Vince Carter dunks or the fact that the trailer ends with him next to Dwight.

No. Just another yearly $60 investment... for what?........

How about EA takes some years off, make a really solid game, and move to a new "yearly DLC" model? ..........Makes sense to me.... create a new game every few years and offer new rosters and other updates via DLC......I'm just really sick of seeing these sports games churn out BS like clockwork when I know the devs could make some gems if given proper time.

its not about making gems.. its about making cash. if people will buy these things every year, why not keep producing them?

EA might take your advice if sales decline, but it's unlikely with titles like Madden. As long as there are Frat houses and the like, sports games will be crapped out every year.

These sports games are the same every year, with minor upgrades. I bought NBA Live 2006 for $10 and played NBA Live 2008 a month later, and I didn't notice any differences besides change in menu, and graphical upgrades.

These yearly games at $60 dollars are mainly for enthusiast, otherwise for casual players of sports games, buying an older version is almost the same as buying the newer version for a lot less.

The character models look very bad. They are all very slender and there is no difference in body build...heck I had to see it twice to notice Shaq was there ( I realized after reading the post). The modeling reminds me of Sony's NBA series where there is also no real difference in body build (just talking about the body types here).

The player's movements are nowhere near 2K's. Live's movement looks robotic, awkward and kinda floaty (from the video), 2K's animations are so good that if you see someone playing from afar you would think it's live footage. I don't know how you can say that Live has the edge graphically...the only thing I can think of is the face rendering, specifically the eyes area...when you see 2K's player up close they look kinda weird...maybe Live has a slight edge there.

I agree, it looked pretty fake, they need to start from scratch, their collision engine looks ridiculous, its like all players are giant square blocks crashing on each other. Terrible.

as I said on another reply, I do think Live's faces look better than 2K's what I don't like is the animations and character modeling as each player seems to have about the same body build. Look at Shaq in the video above, not even when he was a rookie did he look so slender.

No, they always had the edge... sure some players did look awkward but the ones that they nailed look amazing and hopefully there are more of those this year which that appears to be the case... 2K needs to fix its online last year was just horrible enough to make me consider Live

I dont know why all the hubub with folks, like you said, 2K's online was trash to me also.
Not to mention the off controls with ball handling. 2k controls could use "some" work.

listen bud. graphics arent about screenshots. graphics are about the game in motion and the animations.

nba lives animations are awful, they are choppy, slow, and extremely awkward. in motion, the game looks like its 30 frames per second.

2k9 may not look as good while in still mode, but who sits and stares at the game while its paused? LOL.

2k9 has the most amazing animations, everything looks so fluid and it flows together well, every movement of the ball and players is natural and not awkward. in live u can be walking and then all of a sudden do some crazy windmill reallllly fast, and it looks retarded. stuff like that almost never happens in 2k.

nobody would mistake Live for a real basketball game on TV because of how cartoony the animations are.

"all they need" is gameplay? thats something they've been trying to get right since 2005. face it. Live has SUCKED since its inception on the next gen consoles, gameplay cant be done overnight, thats the BIGGEST PART of the game! 2k has had that forever!

Have you even played both of them?

I agree, am not saying that their animations don't suck because honestly they do suck along with their gameplay, but 2k does has its share of problems such as sliding, a few bad animations, the execution of plays is bad compared to Live and a horrible online (they had it right till 2k9). I am not a Live fan, I have not owned a Live game since 2K has come into the picture but I rented Live 09 and its not as BAD as you guys make it look sure it does have its problems. When 2k9 came out it was probably the worst buy ever, the game was released literally broken and it took them months to fix a few. That's why I am now considering Live 10, besides they got Mike Wang and from how low Live has been there's nowhere to go but up

BTW learn the meaning of graphics, buddy... you contradicted yourself

I'm waiting on 2K to see what they got this year. EA always shows off what they got first while 2k sits back and watches and then drops the big bomb after the EA hype. I've gotten every NBA 2k GAME since the first dreamcast version. I'm not about to switch over now.
