I might actually get the sith edition when it goes down in price, or if I'm extremely bored.

Just picked up TFU about a week ago for $15. Decent enough at that price. Already beat it and was going to play through again and get the evil ending then sell it. I guess I will hold on to it now and put it aside for a few months to wait for trophies.

Wait til later when your sliding across the floor unable to get up, getting trapped on scenery.. receiving instant hits.. it just get's worse.. The hardest difficulty I got through my dodging through (double jump-boost) til I found something I had to fight.. I even maxed out the character & never felt like a badass.. worst game I own..

That is actually a really good question. I'm sure they have figured out some way so they count as the same game.

At a glance, I thought this was going to be about Soul Calibur IV getting trophies. I was disappointed until I realized I'd have to delete my save file with all of my unlocked equipment and created characters.

Then I read the article.

as far as i can remember, most trophy patches aren't retroactive, and ffs who cares if it's just now coming out? It's worth playing again if you're really that hard up for trophies.

There has NEVER been a PS3 game with retroactive trophies, They tried several times but developers usually just come back saying they couldn't make it work and there's no way to make it work without risking an exploitable situation. Seriously everyone with a PS3 knows this already stop saying it everytime a patch is announced. When it finally DOES work then you can announce it and it'll be news until then just tell us when a game is getting trophies and WE'LL know already that we'll have to replay it.

As for the game itself it is a good game apart from the part where they rip off people with the original version of the game but that's a completely separate thing. I ended up having to reinstall all my content after a YLOD situation so I've lost my game save so I dont mind this since I have to restart it anyway. No skin of my nose.

Age of Booty actually had single-player retroactive trophies, but I think that's the only one with retroactive trophies.

Good to see you make such damning comments.... and end up with egg on your face.As has been pointed out, there have been several retro trophies (I can confirm Battlefield Bad Company too, as I received them). Perhaps YOU should STOP shouting AT people.Personally I think since devs have the ability to stop you copying save data off a machine they could make trophies retro if they through about it at the point of game release, but it's usually too late. Part of me wants to pick this game up in a bargin bin, but that will depend how hard they make the trophies. I might check out the Xbox achievements to compare...

Battlefield: Bad Company had retroactive trophies, too. But anyway, this will just give me another reason to jump back into this game along with the new DLC. I'm glad to see they're patching the old copies after all and not just putting trophies into the Sith Edition.

Trophies eh?

My friend has the game. I think I might play through it now and borrow it from him. Despite the fact that I am not a trophy whore (I don't play games just to get trophies), trophies can make a game more fun by adding further incentive to the missions rather than making it feel like what you're doing is meaningless. So for free I can suffer through the gameplay, be rewarded for my efforts, and experience the story! Hurrah!

Sure, it's the kind of game you only play when you're 'in the mood' for some Jedi/Sith action, which is generally when you're in a Star Wars DVD-athon (I would've said BD-athon but they're not available Blu-Ray Disc, yet).

I hate to dash your hopes but according to this.

High Definition edition

It has been widely rumored that Lucasfilm plans on re-releasing the 6-film saga in Blu-ray Disc format with many new features and changes; however, John Singh, spokesperson for Lucasfilm, has denied there are any plans. He was quoted as saying "Lucasfilm Ltd. has no plans to release any of the Star Wars movies on Blu-ray. Listings on Amazon.com or any other Web site are purely speculative and erroneous.

That's typical Lucasfilm boilerplate. They don't ever say "Blu-Ray is coming in a year or two" because then people will wait for those instead of picking up the DVDs now.

They will continue to say that until the moment they announce the Blu-Rays.

I passed when this first came out. I love Star Wars, but this game didn't seem like it was worth $65. Maybe I'll be persuaded to pick it up used if I see it for $15 or so now.

Mine has been collecting dust ever since I picked it up for $15 on Gamefly and found the controls to be insufferable. The demo gave me false hope that Starkiller was powerful enough to compensate for poor controls. Then the full version release sees him gimped.

Maybe I'll return to it. Might be tough after playing InFamous, though...
