Splinter Cell: Conviction delayed until 'March quarter'
There's a whole host of delays coming out of today's Ubisoft investor update, but this is the one that'll likely hurt the most: Splinter Cell: Conviction has been moved from the fourth quarter of 2009 to the first quarter of 2010. In other words, Sam Fisher won't be making his return until sometime between January 1 and March 31 of next year (the fourth fiscal quarter of 2009-10).
You're sad, we're sad, everyone's sad. But Conviction's been delayed so many times, you can make a few more months, right? Right?

Nooooooo!!!! I was really looking forward to this.
jeff @ Jul 27th 2009 12:56PM
Why did they JUST ANNOUNCE a release date for october if they were just going to delay it?
NaeemTHM @ Jul 27th 2009 12:57PM
Worst. News. Ever.
I was looking forward to this more than any other game this year. Ah well at least there's still Shadow Complex.
...right?
Matthew @ Jul 27th 2009 1:10PM
I'm starting to wonder if we will ever get to play this game now
Garvey @ Jul 27th 2009 2:11PM
It's turning into Duke Nukem Forever
The Baron @ Jul 27th 2009 4:32PM
Even more bad news.. they announced that they're dropping the PC version, it's now completely 360 exclusive.

Fuck my life.
jahd5000 @ Jul 28th 2009 2:18AM
@The Baron
no, they didnt announce such thing -.-
it actually says the other way around.
The Baron @ Jul 28th 2009 11:48PM
Hmm, looks like they changed the article..
Fail for me, but hooray for it still being on PC, maybe.
Or Is It Alton Brown? @ Jul 27th 2009 12:29PM
Goddamn it.
j.howlett @ Jul 27th 2009 12:29PM
did someone turn the lights on?
Tyler @ Jul 27th 2009 12:29PM
This is just getting stupid, all there will be left this fall is MW 2
Akuma FTW @ Jul 27th 2009 12:30PM
Nobody dares stand up to it. Its like staring at the sun
Archon (PSN: Archonik, XBL: DarkARHN) @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
There's plenty great games releasing this fall, if you are open-minded and happy to play a non-shooter.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 27th 2009 12:33PM
All I can think of besides MW2 is Uncharted, Brutal Legend, Ratchet and Assassin's Creed 2. The fall is getting pretty quiet.
Akuma FTW @ Jul 27th 2009 12:35PM
You forgot Left4Dead2!! Oh....Sorry
Chris D.(PSN: Aggie_CEO | XBL:The Aggie CEO | Steam: Aggie_CEO @ Jul 27th 2009 12:39PM
Unless you are a PS3 Owner...
Ratchet & Clank, & Uncharted....and Assassins Creed which is on 360 as well
Tyler @ Jul 27th 2009 12:39PM
AC 2 and L4D 2 are alright games, but still besides that really nothing else interests me this fall as a must buy. Maybe Borderlands but thats a big maybe
Snowblind @ Jul 27th 2009 12:56PM
ODST, Borderlands, Gay Tony and Risen look great too, and I'm probably forgetting a few others.
I was looking forward to this, but there's plenty coming out this year to keep me busy, I doubt I even would have had money to buy it.
Snowblind @ Jul 27th 2009 12:57PM
Dragon Age..
Bananarama @ Jul 27th 2009 1:08PM
There's also Scribblenauts, Dark Void, Uncharted 2 for those PS3 owners (which I sadly am not one), Rock Band Beatles, there's going to be plenty of games this fall, I'm actually glad that this got pushed back. Do you really want to be playing AC2 and SC:C at the same time?
Mr Khan @ Jul 27th 2009 1:09PM
NSMBWii, Forza 3, Spirit Tracks, and LBP PSP are the other heavy hitters i can think of.
Dark Void, The Crystal Bearers, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom are lesser titles (but still great), that i can think of that haven't been mentioned here yet
Akuma FTW @ Jul 27th 2009 1:11PM
Forza 3, Dragon Age & MW2 are the only must haves IMO. I'll rent the rest and let them battle it out for the 4th spot
HitmanInc @ Jul 27th 2009 1:18PM
If your a PS3 owner splinter cell wasn't coming to you anyways.
But it sucks that it got delayed. But I guess this leaves room to pick up borderlands which is looking really good. Or Alpha Protocol to fill my super spy needs, and it has RPG elements.
Snowblind @ Jul 27th 2009 1:16PM
I am actually looking forward to Crystal Bearers a lot too, but I don't see it actually coming this year. Was it confirmed?
Traceur_Ryuk (PSN: Ryuk_shinigami) @ Jul 27th 2009 1:30PM
Heavy rain... (The title I look forward to most, I'm getting tired of shooters)
Vidikron @ Jul 27th 2009 1:33PM
Hey, to me it sounds like there may still be plenty of good titles left this fall even if a bunch of others have recently been delayed.
So, assuming we don't have any more major delays, isn't this what many of us wanted anyway? It starting to look like we'll have loads of games to play spread out from the holidays through the first couple of quarters next year. Sounds good to me.
Mr Khan @ Jul 27th 2009 1:47PM
http://www.siliconera.com/2009/07/24/final-fantasy-crystal-chronicles-the-crystal-bearers-landing-here-this-year/
for Snowblind.
Vcize @ Jul 27th 2009 1:53PM
In addition to all those already listed,
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Arkham Asylum.
Army of 2 2
Once again there's like 15 games I want to get into this fall.
Snowblind @ Jul 27th 2009 2:49PM
Awesome to know Khan. Being in the UK though, I'll expect it around holiday time 2012.
Durden @ Jul 27th 2009 5:21PM
LFD2, Forza 3, Arkham Asylum, Dirt 2, Lost Planet 2, Fifa 10, MW2, Beatles Rock Band, Uncharted 2, NSMBWii, Gay Tony is all stuff I want this year. Iffy on Gran Turismo PSP and ODST. My wallet will welcome a couple of these to get delayed. I really did want some Bad Ass: The Game though...
Mr Khan @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
Methinks Ubisoft doesn't want it competing directly with Assassin's Creed 2. That's the only thing i can think of aside from last-minute development troubles.
McWilly @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
Well that just turned 09 from ok to medicore.
Zexion_VI @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
lol next, Modern Warfare 2 is delayed in fear of its own power.
carmaction @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
Is that urinal broken because he just smashed that guys face into it?
The Baron @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
Yep.
carmaction @ Jul 27th 2009 12:34PM
I can't remember ever being this excited about a urinal and a man's face at the same time.
Except for that one time.
MystileArmor @ Jul 27th 2009 12:56PM
I thought we agreed not to bring that up, ever again, Carmaction. I'm not ready to talk about this in public yet.
The Baron @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
Are there going to be any games this holiday season? I mean, moving ALL of them into the same period is just the same problem but in a different month.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 27th 2009 12:31PM
March is getting pretty crowded now. This, god of war 3, mass effect 2 and god knows what else at this rate.
Neptune @ Jul 27th 2009 12:51PM
Final Fantasy XIII perhaps, possibly, maybe..
Petebot330 @ Jul 27th 2009 1:08PM
Some stuff will get pushed back again, and we'll actually get games in June and July of '10! Hooray!
George @ Jul 27th 2009 12:32PM
PALM FACE.
The_Punisher @ Jul 27th 2009 12:49PM
*facepalm*
Wow, you managed to spell it wrong.
Rein @ Jul 27th 2009 12:32PM
The one game this fall that I was really hoping wouldn't be delayed... Goddamn it all!
Jarvis Slacks @ Jul 27th 2009 12:33PM
This completely ruined my day.
Captain Planet @ Jul 27th 2009 12:33PM
Gah, damn you Frenchy!
Wiizer (Fix the Comment System) @ Jul 27th 2009 1:42PM
You gonna make a half-assed response to all my comments?
Because we can keep doing this for quite a long time.
Wiizer (Fix the Comment System) @ Jul 27th 2009 12:35PM
You weiners!
I waited for Bioshock a year after release on 360!
Akuma FTW @ Jul 27th 2009 12:37PM
Sloppy Seconds is something you should be used to by now.
