Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Crystal Bearers, and Muramasa, too, but hey, don't let those ruin your fun.

Well, that was the only thing on my Wii radar for the rest of the year. I have a PS3 too, so if want a 3rd party game, it's usually on PS3. I wish more publishers were doing what EA did with Tiger Woods on Wii. It's a game I'd never have bought on PS3, and the Wii game is excellent.

Does this game have a western, gladiator, or samurai theme? I can't tell.

Good. From reports I heard it didn't have multiplayer. No online. No offline. nothing.
I'm not paying for a FPS game that only has Single player unless that single player is 20 + hours long.

Actually good news on my front. In keeping with my 1-game-a-month policy, the only shot it would have had of getting purchased would be if it somehow managed to outshine Phantasy Star 0, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Muramasa, and The Crystal Bearers to get under the Christmas tree (even without it, its a tough contest). Given that Spirit Tracks and NSMBWii are likely to take the October and November slots

In early 2010, this game will only have to compete with Sin & Punishment 2 and No More Heroes 2, and possibly Galaxy 2, depending on Nintendo's schedule, but still a much better field for it to be considered for a purchase

Though i think from a business perspective, it's a bad choice for Ubisoft. Given that there is no other FPS (that's not a rail shooter) on Wii in that quarter, the game would have had a better chance to shine.

Good, then I'm glad I didn't buy another MP dongle today when I got Resort. Recession Xmas? maybe. Hopefully they have played some other fine FPS action on the Wii and now know what we expect.

After the mess that was Red Steel - this is Ubis' last shot at this genre on Wii I think. Better get it right, or a good as possible. Could also be the death knell for the IP if it's crap (again).

Urgh, so many awesome / potentially awesome games coming out early next year.

But MW2, Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, Fat Princess, Uncharted 2 and Arkham Asylum should make the pain hurt less...

Maybe they delayed it so they could start the Natal and PSeye/Motion Controller versions for MS and Sony. Wouldnt that be a kick in the head?

You couldn't get this to work with Natal. At least, not without adding in some sort of analogue commands for moving, but then you would have to be moving with one hand on the controller, while the other forms a gun or sword.

Too convoluted. PSMote might work well, though.

But I like the game even to care.

So the Wii's 2010 lineup is now as follows:

Gladiator A.D., No More Heroes 2, The Grinder, Sin & Punishment 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Red Steel 2, Metroid: Other M, and the possibility of Pikmin 3, Wii Zelda, and whatever Bethesda is working on.

Looks like 2010 is going to be one hell of a year for Wii-owners.

Since Ubisoft is not saying why the game has been delayed, it gives me hope that they're going to overhaul the game before release. All hands-on impressions I've read so far were lukewarm, which is a shame, given the game concept's potential. After having played Wii Sports Resort, the idea of a game that uses the MotionPlus to simulate sword battles has me interested.

I also think Ubisoft is aware most people felt the first Red Steel was a disappointment and know they have only one more chance (especially in the current games market, where so many great games are being released across all platforms) to get this franchise off the ground.

I hope I'm right about the delay as I'd really like Red Steel 2 to be as awesome as it could be.

Well, this lightens my load a bit, i didn't preorder it because i know something like this was going to happen, plus, i wasn't that hyped for the game anyway. There are still great games coming out this holiday for wii though, like new super mario bros. wii, mario and sonic the winter olympic games, resident evil: the darkside chronicles, the legend of zelda: spirit tracks, tatsunko vs capcom, muramasa, and final fantasy cc: the crystal bearers. So, there's genres for every gamer this holiday.

Well, considering it's lackluster E3 appearance, I'm sure a little more time and polish will help. It might also help to give more time to get Wii Motion Plus into peoples hands, to help generate more sales of this title (unless it is being bundled with the accessory.).

I could also see them tacking on some online mutliplayer, if it hasn't already been implemented - I can't recall hearing of any online multiplayer thus far.

I was completely sceptical of this game, as a result of the first game being such a turd, but it looks like Ubisoft is really only retaining the games name and some of the gameplay mechanics (although, improved). I personally don't care about delays, there's so many games to play regardless(doesn't help I own all 3 consoles!). Besides, my time this fall will be dedicated to the New Super Mario Bros Wii, which will undoubtedly be wicked.
