How is Ninja Gaiden with a DualShock? Original NG was the best controlling game of its kind, so I've been a bit weary on trying Sigma. I'd imagine it isn't too different seeing as unlike most games in the genre, the Right Stick isn't used to doge.
The original Sigma worth buying?

Sigma 1 is pretty solid. Black is better in a few minor ways, but on the whole Sigma is the game I'd rather play.
I'll pick up Sigma 2 in a few months -- I really ought to finish NG2 on the 360 first.

So is Tecmo going to produce some sort of DLC that will bring the over the top blood back at some point down the line or are PS3 owners just screwed out of that option period? Luckily I own Ninja Gaiden 2 on my 360 but owning Sigma would be nice with the new content. Just wish they didn't feel the need to tone down the gore....lame.........

In my opinion the gore was lame in the 360 version. I thought that the first game had it just right. So Sigma 2 will probably be somewhere between Sigma 1 and NG2 (360).
In any case, who cares about the amount of blood the enemies squirt out? Its not the core of the actual game play, its an after effect.

Slicing off limbs is very much a part of the core gameplay.
And would you be happier if slicing off limbs shot out glitter and rainbows than, well, blood?
Yes, some games have excessive blood for no reason. For NG2, it's part of the experience. Why alter it?
They've already answered that, I believe. Supposedly they'll have an easier time localizing it without interfering with mature content restrictions in some areas. It certainly wasn't a creative decision.

Wait...please tell me they didn't get rid of limb removal. Slicing off an enemies arm and watching him struggle to defeat you was the best part of Ninja Gaiden 2.
I don't care if my game has less gore; but if it's at the expense of a core gameplay aspect that pisses me off.

To compete with the Juggernaut that is Modern Warfare 2 and their added Night Vision Goggles in the premium edition, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 should have real shuriken's packed into their premium edition.

I just want to ask this to make sure I wasn't cheating the game or anything but I found the first game to be pretty easy only because of the save points and stores. In any difficult area you can find a store and a save point pretty close by. I just stocked up on revives and saved before entering. Rarely did I ever have to restart but I definitely ran through a lot of vials. Am I missing something?

The blood did not make the game but I have to say for me it added to the experience. You are chopping off legs, arms heads etc. Purple mist just doesn't have the same feel. You have a powerful sword you expect to chop off parts of your enemy and you expect to see blood when you do it.
No, the blood is not needed but after playing the game with the blood, I cannot see myself playing this version without it.

Also since limbs disappear into purple mist, the werewolves now have LESS options of attack. They threw limbs before, now even if they throw torsos, they have less options.

Hmmm....ok I think i've got it mostly plotted out now. I will platinum this, then demon souls, then Uncharted 2 and then burst MW2 wide open until GOW3.

I'd like a ridiculous amount of blood spray splashing the camera and causing my ninja to slip around on the floor. You know, an extra level of difficulty.
