So is COD MW2 basically the entire reason for this "Q1 2010 flu"? I guess that seems reasonable because of COD4 being the biggest FPS ever.

Personally I don't even want MW2 as my next FPS. I'm getting either Bad Company 2 or MAG. The small scale of COD games just really throws me off, they just become deathmatch fests. Plus I love vehicles and destructive environments.

if you love Battlefield then MAG is gonna be just as good if not more (hopefully)

oh and this Eye Pet "game" is everything Natal wants to be, now Sony has come out with it (or the tech) months before them but all that will happen is that fanboys will complain about the price, the one last weakness they have

True, you should be careful bcos mylo is the new halo, saying anything negative about it is like shooting Archduke Ferdinand.

its true though... who is actually going to buy Mylo? I don't see many parents buying a virtual friend for their children or young adults going out to grab that game. Who is Mylo for exactly? what is its purpose? I can see my family and friends actually having fun with this little pet when they come over. If you were to show your friends and family "Mylo" they'd probably think its creepy just like everyone else did when we first saw "Mylo" at E3.

I think Mylo would best serve as the "guide" to Microsoft's next console rather than a stand-alone "game" or application. If he's anything like that damn paperclip from MS Word, though, I hope they make him optional.

At least Sony is able to do this with a thirty dollar camera, rather than a 100 dollar one. And a year earlier too.

I like the augmented reality idea and the tech demo is pretty impressive, but I'm waiting for some real games rather than just a glorified Tamagotchi.

Remember people, this is the thing that cancelled the getaway and eight days for ps3 (I can live without getaway, but eight days looked awesome). I can already tell this will be a "game" that holds people's attention for 20 minutes before they get tired of it....kinda like every other casual game

Somehow, Uncharted 2 reminds me of eight days - the frantic action and cover system. At least thats not going to get cancelled.
And its quite possible that there are other games in development - Sony Cambridge has 90 staff and they only have LBP PSP listed as per wiki, Sony London is a big team and thats where getaway and 8 days was canned, and they have only Eyetoy and Singstar listed for PS3 - something big being planned there?

I think I remember hearing that Naughty Dog took pieces of the awesome animation engine that Eight Days had and put it in U2, so that's why it looks similar.

And yes I do have a grudge against casual games, specially when they do things like cancel real games I'm looking forward to.

The whole thing is like one big mini game. Watch some of the demo videos, all you do is pet the thing, or draw something like a toy car for the thing to play with. That's why I'm saying this will hold most people's attention for half an hour before it goes untouched forever.

T-Mac

When you move out of your parents house, get a wife and have kids you will understand that the family doesn't come together around a call of duty death match. Games on the PS3 like Buzz, Singstar, Rockband, Little Big Planet and presumably this eye pet thing bring the family together. Sure, there are things like board games and sports for that as well but if you are a gaming family then this type of stuff is vert attractive. I'm not saying people without that situation would like it but thats what is attracting me to the title. It's also a pretty cool piece of technology.

Get off the soapbox already.

Wonder if they'll release it as a PSN download in addition. It seems like the kind of "Home-like" experience that people might want to just pop into for a few minutes, and leave after not too long, without worrying about swapping discs. I'd be more likely to download it than to buy it at retail, personally. Though I would GameFly it first on disc, if it came to that...

Just looked at the video again - and I am impressed. Never realised before just how sophisticated it is, the trampoline minigame is a riot. It screams out "casual game" but in a good way - simple intuitive controls but with the production values of a big title.

Damn when I saw that trailer for this "app" (cause its not a game) it looks amazing. But lets be real honest here how does Sony plan on marketing this game? I mean look at Killzone 2, Resistance 2 or even Infamous got marketed? Game looks uber cute but I know I am not buying one and its not going to be a huge seller. Its going to be a great underground game liek Seaman on DC.
