Next month, Monolith's F.E.A.R. 2 will receive an injection of fresh DLC, IGN reveals. This time around, the content won't be focused on multiplayer. Instead, F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn adds four new single player missions, with the player controlling replica soldier Foxtrot 813 through an all-new adventure.
There's no word on exact date or price, but we'll be sure to inform all eight of you that care when we find out.

There is. They didn't specify, but they said something (in the IGN article) about having out of the ordinary achievements that will make you play the levels differently. I'm hella excited, I loved the singleplayer in F.E.A.R. 2 and was disappointed by the multiplayer.

I think fear 2 is on sale for $20 at G$ starting this weekend, if you were thinking about picking it up again.

Nice... I just bought this game yesterday for just $20. (and the guy at Gamestop gave me a Wind Waker cover... I asked for the cover because mine is a crappy Player's Choice one).
Is the multiplayer community still active in this game? I just ordered the first one too.

I think FEAR 2 is a pretty solid shooter. It's been under-rated, and u can get it now for $20. Good value.

Still haven't tried this game out yet, I was disappointed by the demo, I'm not the only one who knows this game was "consolized", simplified and dumbed down. The original FEAR 1 was a PC game first and later ported to consoles whereas this was designed first as a console game.
Because many console gamers didn't play FEAR 1, it wasn't popular on the consoles, they changed the story so you don't continue from the ending of the first game and instead play as a whole new character in a parallel story.
I'm very afraid the same will happen for Crysis 2 as well. : (

This isn't really a prequel or a sequel, it occurs during the first game for a bit, and then continues on. Sure it doesn't follow the Pointman, but there's nothing stating that they can't do so in Fear 3.
That aside, honestly, FEAR isn't that great of a game if you go back and play it. It's not scary, the gameplay is pretty straight forward, and it's almost too generic after all that is taken into account.
At least with FEAR 2, you get an injection of new special effects for the 'scares', and a new gameplay element in the mech suit.
All in all, I liked it as much as I first liked FEAR, and FEAR 2's ending is a lot more ... bizarre/interesting, than the first one.

Isn't it ironic that the unofficial FEAR 1 expansion, "Extraction Point", takes place right after the events of FEAR 1 whereas the official sequel does not.
The main character in FEAR 1, "The Pointman", had the slow-mo powers due to being the son of Alma. I can understand the main in the second FEAR 1 expansion "Perseus Mandate", "The Sergant" having those powers from surgery due to it being unofficial.
But the original developers also give the powers to Beckett in FEAR 2 from surgery, takes away the mystery of the powers doesn't it?

Hey Big.
Yea, I thought I was out of luck, but the local GS employee told me to try WalMart and mention the GS price. I was a little surprised it worked honestly. The price match should hold true for SFIV as well...

I enjoyed the single player campgain. To me it was pretty scary. There something about Alma standing behind me that freaks me out. Throughout the whole game I felt like she was watching me. Creepy.

GREAT! I am so sick of all the multiplayer DLC. I'm a long time gamer and while I like multiplayer, I think it's gotten a bit stale and very mindless. There's nothing new under the sun there, whereas with a single player DLC, you get more of a unique, story-driven experience.

I had more fun with FEAR 2 overall than Killzone 2 or Resistance 2 (what a boring game).

me too. killzone2 looks good but it gives me a headache behind my eyes. i'm pretty sure because of the way it moves. resistance 2 was just too cartoony and shitty looking.
