Xbox 360 "exclusive" Star Ocean: The Last Hope has appeared on GameFly under the PS3 platform with a TBD release date. We followed up with GameFly and a company spokesperson let us know, "We simply post information as it is supplied to us by the publishers."
Apparently, enough time has gone by for the "exclusive" game to do its damage to the competition abroad. We're currently awaiting a response from Square Enix and we'll update as soon as we receive a transmission from the distant star system.
Update: Square Enix has responded to our request for comment, saying that "[The GameFly listing] was an error, but we cannot comment on an official PS3 release [of the game]."

Ouch tough blow PS3 owners. You all sit around and beg for a mass effect port and you get kicked in the groin with something as horrible as this instead.

I have a PS3 and a high end gaming PC. My PC plays pretty much most of the games that are also on the 360 but not on PS3, so I'm not missing much.

You can't criticize Mass Effect's gameplay when you're defending a JRPG, that just makes you look ridiculous.

Probably the only reason ME2 isnt being ported is because it wouldnt make sense without ME1, and porting 2 massive games would be too time consuming. Does make economic sense though as it would sell a lot on the PS3, and it sold just 2-2.5m on the 360, slightly less than LBP which probably had less than 1/10th the team. I guess if they dont port it would have to rely on the PC version to play the 360 "exclusive".
Going by user reviews, seems like Tales of Vesperia is the best JRPG on the 360 and much better than this game, and its out in September on PS3

Yeah, ps3 owners wanted a good rpg from 360 and got a bad one instead. Is it a coincidence that one is a wrpg and the other is a jrpg? Well, if you go by this gen then no it's not. That's just how it is now.

Dude, Tmac... what are you saying? Did you even play Star Ocean 4?
Geez, take your hate for JRPGs to some other article.

Nothin douchey about it (well I guess it is if you're feelings get hurt easily). Star Ocean is a disaster of a game and is a great reason why the jrpg genre and the japanese as a whole are so far behind the west in gaming.

Did you play it? You've yet to answer that question. And in making an attempt to ignore the huge amounts of bias and arrogance in your comment, I want to know if you've played the game or not.

You don't need to play a game to know how bad it is. There's these things called reviews and gameplay trailers and youtube videos (look at the one someone linked below...fucking terrible). This isn't back in the snes day when all we had were the monthly EGMs to go off of.
Also, why would I put myself through yet another boring generic jrpg when I already knew how bad it was? Lost Odyssey was my final straw with that pathetic genre.

to alamos, people that prefer western rpgs over jrpgs are dense? If I made a list on my favorite rpgs there would be a lot more Wrpg then Jrpgs, so that makes me dense?
I hate how many Jrpg fans (not all) think themselves so high and mighty and that their interests are the cream of the crop while everyone else wallows in shit for entertainment.
My take on jrpgs is a more negative one since I personally think the teams making them don't care about innovation but just want to make money. Some jrpgs are good though, when you play them you can tell that the creators were passionate about what they were doing and that they were happy to it, even though they weren't pushing the envelope.Lost odyssey and tales are two examples of that. Star Ocean is bland, the story bland and predictable, the characters are rehashes of cliches and it seems like the developers chose 'safe' archetypes to ensure a fanbase, the fighting system is not much more then a button masher with little strategy unlike its turn based ancestors. Its a mediocre game, so alamos, don't think that just because people don't like it means that they are below you, there will be a million more people that will say your intersts are low brow just like there will be a million more that disagree with me.
Internet arguments, its serious business.

You're assuming that 360 fanboys even care about The Last Remnant or Star Ocean, which is wrong to be blunt. Hardly anyone cares about those games.

I can't believe he was voted down for that.. Under no definition were either of those games any good *at all*, and I can assure you no 360 fanboys will be crying. Not only because they were awful games, but also because we knew it was going to be on the PS3 from day one, it was just a matter of time.
I'm sure I speak for all 360 owners when I say: take them. Far away.

I actually enjoyed The Last Remnant, I may have even liked it more than Lost Odyssey. Then again, I LOVE the entire SaGa franchise so my opinion on JRPGs is moot.

If they add a huge lot of extra content like the port of Tales of Vesperia, it might be worthwhile. Otherwise, it's like you just said.

I remember deciding to play SO: Til the End of Time recently after not playing it for over at least 5 yrs. Keep in mind this was really my first JRPG, so the first time I played I was too much aware of the stereotypes so I liked the game a little.
But after getting to the part were I meet the girl from the Circus, don't remember her name, I instantly turned of the the PS3 and put the game away.
