Oh great, Humanity will be extinct within a generation. Thousands of years from now an alien explorer ship will find the remains of human civilization, then they will find a computer with this game, and the cycle of death will begin anew.

My lady was a huge fan of the Twilight series until I introduced her to some real vampire stories. After she read The Vampire Lestat, she forgot all about Twilight.

Ah dammit, we just figured out how to clone sperm so that all the men who spend 18 hours a day playing their XBoxes won't contribute to the downfall of the human race, and now this game appears. So now with both genders glued to their videogames all hours a day, we have no hope at all. Perhaps NOW we will make real efforts toward those artificial wombs. And nanny-bots. And self-cooking kitchens.

... urg.... My ovaries! They are compelling me to play it! I don't even like Twilight! It's a pile of sexist crap! But ... Gender is Destiny! !!! ! Right, Joystiq?

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and snakes,
an aeroplane - Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn,
world serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs.
Feed it off an aux speak,, grunt, no, strength,
The ladder starts to clatter with fear fight down height.
Wire in a fire, representing seven games, a government for hire and a combat site.
Left of west and coming in a hurry with the furies breathing down your neck.
Team by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing!
Fine, then.
Uh oh, overflow, population, common food, but it'll do.
Save yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs, listen to your heart bleed dummy with the rapture and the revered and the right - right.
You vitriolic, patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Should I continue?

A Harry Potter MMO would be great if it followed the books and was handled by a competent dev team.

I assume you mean following the book in setting and not in plot, because that would make for a huge clusterf**** of a MMO if we had hundreds of thousands of Harrys, Rons, and Hermonies running around, all at different ages, trying to defeat Voldemort and simultaneously crashing the Chamber of Secrets, freeing Buckbeak, participating in the TriWizard Tournament and the Battle of Hogwarts, not to mention The Daily Death of Dumbledore.

Yeah, I meant the world she created. You would probably need a new plot too (maybe ten years after the events of Deathly Hallows or something), but it would be very neat if the levelling process was you progressing through Hogwarts, with things like Quidditch and other sub-gameplay on the side, and you could interact and trade useful items with players of other years walking round the school.

Then at the endgame, you leave the school and can go around a world going into specific magical jobs and solving some kind of big evil conspiracy or whatever.

This is just a fanboys gushing, but you can see the potential for a pretty unique MMO here.
