I think WT had plenty of Tool for ya. Especially with the themed background. And APC is close enough for me. I'm just surprised it's Judith and not something far less popular.

I'd rather tool not whore out their music for this kind of thing. They've become one of the most popular rock bands in the world without giving in to the normal advertising affair. It's kind of a shame to see them do this now.

Um, GH III is the best rhythm game ever in terms of guitar vs guitar gameplay imo.

As for GH:WT, that was a crap track list. If I get this one, could I sell GHWT and still play my downloaded tracks in GH5?

And before someone brings it up, no, I don't like Rock Band as much b/c it has less challenging note patterns with stricter timing. I prefer the other way around.

you sheeple go pay $60 for the 4-5 songs you actually want. I'll drop $10 on those tracks when they show up for Rock Band, because they will eventually. I'm in no hurry and I'll salvage my self respect and do my part to say no to these innovationless money grabs.

That's 54 good-to-great songs in that setlist. A 54/85 ratio is decent, but DLC support makes this a buy for me. Especially if they carry over that improved Vocals system. The Vocals for GHWT was complete ass.

Hey, gotta say this is a better setlist than World Tour. I'm loving the Arctic Monkeys and Bowie.

Still, the music may be good, but the game is what makes it unenjoyable for me. I'll wait for the music to drop in Rock Band

I'll give them this, it's a nice list of tracks. That said, I'll see you whenever you hit the bargain bin or maybe an insanely good deal like the SFIV deal that gamestop has going on.
I know alot of people say this, but I'll think twice before forking over money towards Activision. Even Modern Warfare 2 can wait, it's going to be filled with little assholes anyways for the first couple of months.

It's going to be filled with little assholes for a lot longer than the first few months. It's going to be a day one purchase for me, and I'll just have to learn how to deal with them/mute them

Great setlist but it will wait for me, also. I have no interest in 2 $60 rythym games around the same time (I'm getting Rock Band Beatles).

Though I have no issue with the little assholes that will be on Modern Warfare 2considering I only play online in parties with my friends so I never have to hear them at all.

Yeah, the majority of the bands I'm interested in on here already have better songs (or the exact same songs) on Rock Band. Blink 182 just released their GH5 song on RB along with 2 other last week in addition to the other 2. Theirs already 3 better Jimmy Eat World Songs and about 10 other Weezer songs that I like more. We have the entire Rush album, the No Doubt Greatest Hits, and about 400 other songs...I just can't justify going back to Guitar Hero. Plus RB releases the same amount of DLC in a week that GH does in a month.

I strongly disagree. This list is crap. Nearly every band they chose has better songs they could've used. There's like 5 bands that are new to the music game scene. Half the songs are already on Rock Band too.

There's a few good songs on the list, sure, but it doesn't save it.

Pretty much agreed, for some at least. See above for Megadeth, and for Rush I think La Villa Strangiato would be a much better pick. After all, the point of GH5 is to make it more guitar-centric, right?

I totally agree. This setlist is horrible not only for the songs that were included but also for the ones not available. Theyve somehow managed to skip over entire sub-genres in 85 "rock" songs.

No wonder there isn't a Rock Band 3 this year... it's starting to look like the well of songs that'd move discs is running dry. Now, I'm NOT saying there aren't good songs in this list - about a dozen of them make me wish I could have this day one. But the number of songs that leave me scratching my head is rising substantially...

This is why I have never gotten a guitar hero or rock band, in that whole list theres 1 song I like and a couple I don't mind, that hardly justifies the ridiculous price tag, even though Sweating Bullets is hard to turn down.

I just think its kinda funny that people keep picking on Modern Warfare 2 prestige edition, at least you get an entire game experience, with a full guitar hero set you'll pay more and just get a beat matching game. (just FYI I don't have the prestige edition preordered, I'm not even getting modern warfare 2, I just like sitting back and laughing at things like this)

Agreed. I personally didn't like Rock Band or RB2 because they didn't have any songs I really liked, except Shooting Star, Man In The Box, and Master Exploder. Everything else I didn't really care for.

But doesn't Guitar Hero sell like two-to-one to Rock Band? That should say something, regardless of which game you like.

The only bad thing about Guitar Hero is the whole "Lets make five every year!" thing. GH: Metallica made me overall better at playing those types of games(And my favorite GH), Smash Hits had great songs(Lacked at everything else), and GH5 is looking to be pretty awesome, especially the songs. Peter Frampton? Hell yes.

Yeah, GH sells more based off the brand name Harmonix built for them. Here is what says it all to me though, going off of PS3 Thursday release dates GHWT got 15 new songs. Rock Band got 47 from Blink 182, Green Day, Kiss, Weezer, Judas Priest, Kings of Leon and much more. Plus once Rock Band Network comes out the store is going to be putting as much as 10 new songs in a day.

It's all personal preference and musical taste. so whether or not someone likes GH or RB better, it's opinion. Factually, Rock Band is a better GAME than Guitar Hero. Music CD, well that's personal preference too. But, Rock Band 2 has an excellent tour mode, and a beautiful aesthetic, Guitar Hero has an outdated, old aesthetic that Harmonix created years ago and ditched because it was painful to the eyes.

Rock Band also has the insane amount of DLC that comes out weekly, and it seems like there is more love being put into rock band, then the soulless monthly GH releases that are just quick cash ins. I mean look at the Beatles Rock Band, it looks like so much passion went into making that game, it has character and class and style. And Rock Band 3, well, that's taking quite some time, so I'm going to assume they're putting love into that too.

the real reason I dislike GH though, is because of the pompous idiots that don't know anything about GH or music that play it. Like my friends who say Rock Band ripped off GH and GH came first. what they don't know is that harmonix created GH and RB... -_- also the people who are just too thick headed to try rock band because they are such 'hardcore GH' fans. ugh...GH isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it's a thing of preference!

Yeah, it does come down to preference, but it's hard to have a preference for GH when RB has (at least for me) more songs per artist I like, with the promise of tons of DLC in the future.

With all of the a la carte DLC available, I'm thinking sequels have to be more than track packs. If you only like a few of the songs on this list, it makes more sense to cross your fingers and wait for Rock Band DLC.

Maybe it does make sense for disc releases to target to a particular taste, so you feel like you're getting more of what you want for the money.

I completely disagree about the songs being harder on GHWT. Adding in the slide notes made it too easy. I beat every song in that game without a problem, Rock Band DLC has given me some problems as well as some of the core setlist. GH just can't contend with the amount of DLC RB has been putting out for some reason. Even if they ever do decide to step it up, it's too late.
