Did J.J. Abrams have anything to do with the production of this game?

Pardon this American, but..

It always seemed to sound like they referring to the game as "Bleh".
My feelings exactly.

Also, for Ben Gilbert:

It's my estimation that Shunt is a ramming power-up where as Barge turns you into somewhat of an immovable tank-like object.

Ugh. I can't stand this dev diary with people getting excited about powerups that are decades old. Nitro? Shock? Oh boy, somebody get a broom because my mind=blown.

i'm a big fan of bizarre, mainly from their pgr series and of course geometry wars. while blur looks like it will be fun, it sounds too much like burnout with powerups. i just hope when i'm playing it, it feels nothing like burnout and like something that's new and fresh. we'll see, keep at it bizarre!

This doesn't look to be that great of a game....When I see a racing game, I want see see Carnage, like Burnout 3. That was probably the best in the series.

Oh, you said Burnout 3. Sorry. That one's number two to me behind the one that calls the song above a theme.

Couldn't disagree more, thought 3 was by far the worst. 1 and 2 were awesome, Paradise brought it back.

I do agree though, that they need some awesome damage modeling to make this game satisfying. It's no fun if your weapons look like they have no effect on your opponents.

You were doing fine until you mentioned Gran Turismo and by default Forza would be included in your statement due to the fact they are both competitors... Just stick to your WoW unless you know what you are talking about.

if you ever played a real racing sim like GTR or richard burns rally you'd know what a racing sim is.

but keep living in your little kiddy fantasy where lots of pretty cars means a game has realistic physics or driving models.

gran turismo is the biggest joke of all, even on max hard mode it still closer to mario cart than a sim

I have played pretty much every sim, and quite a few arcade games too. GT5 and Forza 3 will still be the best sims because they are new, and don't have outdated graphics, physics and cars. They may not be the most realistic of sims but then again neither is GTR and Richard Burns. This is coming from someone who races a Group N Evo VIII...

The Club was actually an interesting concept, a shooter with the feel and mechanics of a racer. Because of that dynamic, its a great way to blow off steam for a couple matches and to me it still has replayability to this day.

This game looks like it introduces nothing in the way of innovation.

In UK English, shunt means traffic collision. So I'm sure it just causes a car in front of you to wreck.

In any English, shunt just means a hard bump. Not too difficult to figure out what it might do.

It doesn't mean a hard bump in US English. If you asked me what I meant, I'd say it's a bypass for current or liquid flow, as used in medicine or electronics.

That's true too.

But a shunter is a type of train engine that pushes other train cars around. I suppose "push" is a better word than "bump," but either way it's not hard to figure out.

Also would like to point out to the class that they used the term "shunt" in Burnout as well.
