Free-to-play 'KOF World' to dropkick Asian market
18
If you've been enjoying SNK's latest, King of Fighters XII, you might be interested to learn that SNK and Shanda Games are teaming up to offer a version of that game for the PC. It's going to be called KOF World, a free-to-play game for the Asian market. Aside from the usual 2D fighting, this new version will also incorporate "MMORPG features by adding a complete multiplayer role playing game (RPG) mode," though exact details on this new mode were not provided. Oh, and if you don't live in Asia, sorry for making you incredibly jealous.

joystiq always does this they rip off kotaku articles and claim them as their own but they report it like hours sometimes days after them. joystiq does filter more important news tho, well except the constant stupid fucking patcher articles.

What are you talking about? Joystiq isn't claiming anything... nowhere in the article does it say "Joystiq exclusive!" or anything of the sort. I mean, are you trying to say that just because one news source reports something means that another can't report the same thing? Come on.
I prefer Joystiq's writing anyway.

why would it make non-asia people jealous... its a fighting game, you don't neeeed it to be in english. I will just sign up and download as I always do for those nice asia mmo's... although asia has an annoying sign up system...

maybe they mean you have to have an asian IP to download and play the game, and yah yah you can work around it.

Well, this sucks. Good thing for me is that I'm not really a fan of the game although I would have loved to try it out on the PC. They are just losing clients with this anyway.
