It appears that Fallout 3's Mothership Zeta is the last DLC adventure for the (anti-)hero from Vault 101. MTV Multiplayer took note of the wording on Bethesda's website for the game, which states that the latest piece of content is the post-nuclear saga's "final DLC."
We're currently following up with Bethesda to see if they have called it quits on the Wasteland, which means that the next time we'll be hearing from the world of Fallout will be during our trip to New Vegas next year. Come on, Bethesda. There's still some uranium to squeeze from the glowing stone.
Update: Bethesda says "never say 'never,' but this is the last DLC we have planned."

1 word for you... Shadowrun... That's the IP Bethesda need to get there hands on. A Shadowrun game done in the Fallout/TES style would be truly epic! Magic, technology, dragons, what more could you want? Plus there is already a complete universe there to build the game and storylines around.

@Alex
but Fallout 1 was released in 1997
Fallout: Tactics was released in 2001
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was released in 2004
the canceled version of Fallout 3 developed by Interplay was set for 2003
but InterPlay went broke and shut down
and Bethesda bought the rights
that is why it took so long
and Fallout: New Vegas has already been announced
so no, it will not take another 10 years

I agree with the whole new franchise thing as well. Shadowrun was one of the predictions I heard a while ago and frankly, I'd love to see that done too.
Or a new Cthulhu game with the cut down of difficulty from the first one and the RPG elements of Fallout and TES. I think though, Bethesda should be left to focus on two things, FPS' and RPG's.
And with id now under their ownership, god only knows what kind of epic creation could come from them...
*crosses fingers for an RPG styled Doom somewhere down the line*
I can dream. :P

I have been a staunch supporter of a gritty noir 20's detective/rpg cthulhu game for sometime. Bethesda did shadows over hackdirt in oblivion and dunwitch building in Fallout. I would keep buying content for Scrolls or Fallout til a new one comes.

All good things come to an end. But at least we can look forward to New Vegas

So no Rockopolis or The Commonwealth? :(
Oh well, I think $110 for all of Fallout 3 was more than enough. Not really sure yet about New Vegas because I'm not an Obsidian fan, but if they pretty much make it Fallout 3 in Las Vegas then I'll be happy.

That's the plan according to Fallout Wiki (AKA The Vault).

so the final cost of a regular fallout 3 copy and all 4 DLC items would be $100...awfully close to that European Modern Warfare 2 disc would be.
Just as a thought: I would buy a game at $100 with a guarantee that a certain amount of additional hours would be added without cost...maybe Pre-ordering DLC with the retail game as a promise of making it cheaper than buying all the DLC individually .

Or just wait for the GOTY edition. It has all the DLC and the game for $60.

Fantastic game. I was playing it all day today, even after beating it. Can't wait for Mothership Zeta. Too bad it's the last.

Fallout 3 has had its good to great amount of DLC for it to extend its game play. I for one have not seen any piece of it being bad. I think other dev's should take a look at Bethesda's commitment to its games and fans when it comes to DLC. This isn't just simply clothes or a few dandy weapons but full expansions to the game universe itself.
They also learned their lesson from the mishaps of TES: Oblivion. No doggy armor here just full fledged additions to the game.
I can expect to see the same treatment for future Bethesda games such as TES 5, and if we can see Fallout 4.

That kinda sucks - and just when they were getting to the good stuff.
I'm not saying the previous DLC wasn't good, I'm just saying that I would love more crazy DLC, and aliens is on top of my list of crazy ass shit.

I'm pretty sure they said the same thing about Broken Steel before the revealed Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta. There were even some leaks of the name Point Lookout that they denied for a bit. I hope this is the same thing.

Bullshit Bethesda. I love you guys but you are IDIOTS if you are seriously planning to stop here.
The Commonwealth is another untapped area liked someone said before and I'm sure there's at least one or two more original ideas they've yet to tap.
ESPECIALLY the commonwealth. I really wanted to learn more about that... Like maybe getting another karmaic type event like with the pitt, so to speak. Helping the androids rebel and take over or crushing down absolute control over them.
Granted... Kinda similar to the Pitt, but it'd have a different origin and backstory. Plus... Maybe it could be more of a Charisma focused situation? All of the quests having the option of being completable through like... speech challenges.

I'm actually hoping they are holding The Commonwealth for the next full game they do. (Fallout 4? Fallout Philly? Phillout?) That would be awesome.

I love Fallout 3, but after 200 hours of playtime, it's time for something totally new.
Presently doubting New Vegas will offer enough of a different gameplay experience, and another Elder Scrolls will likely follow the Oblivion formula...so, what's TRULY next?

I will keep buying Fallout 3 DLC for as long as they keep making it so I hope they have some more up their sleeves.
Here is a suggestion for a new one: a new vault that is underwater and isn't all messed up like the other ones (well not abandoned or destroyed like the rest). So Rapture in Fallout.
Also how about a new storyline dealing with the Brootherhood Outcasts? Or wiping out the mutants at Vault 81? Or how about a Community Content Pack featuring some of the best community creations (as a 360 player this would be super awesome)?

I think most of us want more Fallout 3 DLC, but I'm betting they are already working on ES5, so Zeta (get it?) really is the last of it. I only got Broken Steel because I realized I'll be getting the GOTY edition.
