TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled gets re-priced to 800 MS points
Cowabunga! Bodacious! Other TMNT saying! Pardon the hoopla, but Ubisoft has confirmed to Joystiq that next week's XBLA "Summer of Arcade" release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, will debut at 800
($10), 400
($5) less than the originally announced 1200
($15) price.
"We wanted to give something to the loyal TMNT fans in honor of the 25th anniversary," Ubisoft responded when asked about the last-minute change. Then again, dare we really question the generosity of a mega-publisher when it actually want us to shell out less for its games? (Oh, and for those eyeing the 800
[$10] rebate from MS for buying everything in the Summer of Arcade lineup? Well, it just got $5 cheaper to buy "everything.")
[Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

If only the game wasn't going to suck.
Blue_Falcon @ Jul 31st 2009 1:22AM
This went from "maybe" to "probably." The rebate doesn't hurt, either (since I plan on buying the other Summer of XBLA titles).
Mouthsmasher @ Jul 31st 2009 4:18AM
At $15 I was pretty positively going to hold out on this one, waiting for some distant time when I'd have more money to blow, or when (if) the price were ever to drop. Now it's on my maybe list. Yay!

"No" to "Probably" here.

It's Pizza Time!
I wasn't even thinking about buying at $15, but at $10 I may. Need to see the reviews of the game first. Hopefully they didn't butcher one of my favorite SNES games.

I knew I saw that pic from somewhere.

Same here. It's still a little iffy, but this is actually a reasonable price. And hell, I already bought MvC2 and was planning on Shadow Complex, if I pick up this I might as well get Splosion Man for free I guess :P
Ianiscool @ Jul 31st 2009 12:47PM
to me it look like a leprechaun to me!
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 31st 2009 1:31AM
I was gonna hold off on this for a while but the $10 price point makes it hard to now. I also wasn't going to get Trials HD but after seeing a gameplay trailer of it I'm leaning towards "maybe" now. There goes my games on demand money :(
Bubbameister33 @ Jul 31st 2009 2:05AM
Could you post that link for the Trials trailer? I've been wondering about that myself.

A lot more impressive than I thought it would be. I hear it's a really tough game though.

Kokomadeta @ Jul 31st 2009 1:32AM
Good because I'm not paying 1200 MS Points for it. After feeling like I got hosed on TMNT the arcade game, I wasn't about to spend money on another TMNT game that I can't sell back.
I liked the game based of off TMNT the movie though. That was way fun. Thanks, Hollywood Video.

Not interested, HD Arcade version with SNES levels please.
DaRabidDuckie @ Jul 31st 2009 1:56AM
Now that's a sale. Thanks Ubisoft, for listening to the fans!
Frito @ Jul 31st 2009 1:56AM
I am shell shocked
emperorzeroxx @ Jul 31st 2009 2:27AM
I was putting this as a maybe considering I just got monkey island and marvel vs capcom 2, but at ten bucks I can't pass this up, TMNT is now a definite buy!
Twist @ Jul 31st 2009 2:15AM
Kind of strapped for cash to spend on gaming after picking up a few of the $20 games at GameStop (got three and there are like 3 more I wouldn't mind getting, but can't afford to get) so this is definitely a welcome change. Makes me much more likely to pick this game up now.
Still sad that 800 points is the new 400 points and 1200 points is the new 800 points. Either way I think 800 is the right price in this case.
D0RC @ Jul 31st 2009 2:18AM

I almost passed on this one for 1200pts, now there is absolutely no question at 800pts. After playing the demo, MvC2 has taken its place on the fence.
Cyantre @ Jul 31st 2009 3:40AM
At $15, I wasn't going to buy this. At $10, I will. =)
erkgjkrhsogfodsf @ Jul 31st 2009 3:41AM
I hope you're happy you babies. No wonder why the video game culture are shit, it's the members in it that does nothing but play and comment. I bet you just had an erection, and then to those commenters that were so happy reading this BIG(yeah right) news(five bucks less, wow. Do you still pay games on disc?), that they started taking a crap and eating them back, that they started typing the keyboard with there erected penis, and then make comments out of it, while farting in the air at a 90 degree angle with please. This is why you are in a basement. Anyway, onto tmnt. That crap is for little kids, why? Because When I was a kid, the kids in my school were into tmnt. So it was a kid thing, there were no adults spinning on their back, only kids. They show off their tmnt-fan-ness by using backpacks in school, Everyday, I see these kids wearing them, oh by kids, I'm talking about 2nd graders. They park crapbacks-I mean Backcraps(oh whatever, why am I typing my mistake? I've got a fucking backspace, this isn't my thought process. I'll stop it, because it's retarded, so as everyone that does it.) in one spot in class. The Crap-packs sat next to each other, along with Barby, Winnie the poo, spiderman, spiderman underwear, xmen, and all of that first grader stuff/shit. In highschool, I still see come students wear them. A fat polynesian wearing a dora-explorer back pack. Wow, she should eat brocoli now. So do these self-conscious students that worry about their image so much, that they started using kids craps? Years later, I learn that... Well whatever it is, that anyone can enjoy this. But god damn it, the thought that TMNT is still for kids stays in me. So I'll say this, TMNT ARE FOR KIDS, AND FUCK BIG BUSINESS, AND PLAYGROUND/SCHOOLS FOR SCREWING MY HEAD. I think California is bad place.

i did not read your block of text there, but i deem it awesome in a rambling/crazy kind of way! wohooo!
GordoJones @ Jul 31st 2009 4:11AM

whylekat @ Jul 31st 2009 8:06AM
It's so scary that you teach little kids...
GiggMan @ Jul 31st 2009 8:51AM
Wow that was a pleasure and a pain to read (if thats even possible)....
Ch0ppa @ Jul 31st 2009 9:51AM
wow..was this an assignment for your English as a Second Language class or something? "Go to Joystiq.com and write the most rambling, stupid ass comment you possibly can!" According to your theory everyone should just forget the characters they loved as kids and move on? Maybe some people like reminiscing to a simpler time when cartoons and kid's shows were actually worth half a fuck. Maybe playing a TMNT game allows someone to go back and feel like a kid again, when they didnt have to worry about shit like the economy, paying bills, and all the other shit grown-ups gotta worry about. Go suck a fat monkey cock asshole!

CJONES22 @ Jul 31st 2009 3:57AM
ahhhh ubisoft made this. i hate them to me it seems like all there games are underdeveloped and pumped out the door to make wall street happy.
whylekat @ Jul 31st 2009 8:04AM
Dude have you ever played any ubisoft titles?? They rarely feel under developed or rushed! Considering Video Games makes more money then other media outlets, I highly doubt "wall street" had anything to do with their game development.
